What do you love most about Your City?
What’s not to love about Sydney! I love the beauty and scale of our city. There’s nothing like flying in over the harbour and touching down after a flight, it’s such a comforting feeling. Sydney is abundant with diverse food, recreational possibilities, great weather and opportunities. It’s a big enough city to ensure you don’t run into your neighbour, but not so big to leave you feeling lost or ‘one of many’.
I love that you can go from spending a day at a beautiful beach, to a lush bushwalk, hit the shops, jump on a ferry or enjoy one of the community events on offer.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
When I have the luxury of a slow breakfast, I alter between a poached egg option or a light fruit-based brekky, like a smoothie bowl.
Nowadays I’m likely to go local, but my all time favourite breakfast destinations are The Boathouse which sits on Balmoral beach or Thelma & Louise, with views of the harbour.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – It’s likely that one of my two boys have snuck into our bed, while I check emails, news and socials in ‘stealth’ mode so I don’t wake anyone!
10:00 AM – I’m in our fantastic office at InsideOut PR/#AsSeenOn. The morning is where my concentration is highest and I power out all the work. It’s also the time of day where my writing ability is at its peak. If it’s a Tuesday, we have had our team WIP where we run through where all our client work and campaigns are at.
12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
I’m not one for a large lunch, I prefer to have my main meal as dinner. It’s usually a quick ‘thrown-together’ meal of toast, salad or soup depending on the weather and my diary.
7:00 PM - It’s bath time for my boys, and after that I’m probably wrestling my four-year-old into his pajamas! Next is getting them rested and ready for bedtime with loads of snuggles, stories and silliness.
11:00 PM – If I’m not yet asleep then I’m either on my phone checking in again on emails, news and socials or reading my book.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
I must start my workday with my coffee (soy cap with cinnamon) – in fact I’ve always been suspicious of a PR that doesn’t drink coffee! During the day, I’m seen with my large glass bottle of water infused with mint, lime and lemon – I drink loads of water in the day. If it’s a Friday night it’s a wine, but otherwise it’s usually a mineral water.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
These days I hover equally between Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn – each used for different a purpose; while the iPhone News app is part of my daily update.
What should everyone try at least once?
Yoga! And don’t judge it after one session, definitely try different variations to find the one most suited to your mind and body. I’ve practiced now for over 10 years, and it’s how I reset my focus for the week while gaining strength and loosening up my muscles.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
Any new holiday destination is where I love getting lost. Taking in my ew surroundings and enjoying new experiences. This year we escaped the Winter for a small break in Fiji.
