Heidi Powell: Transformation Specialist, Author & Co-Creator of The TRANSFORM app

Heidi Powell is the ultimate female force. She is a trainer, transformation specialist, devoted wife, mother of four, savvy businesswoman, author, nutrition nut, and overall health guru. Heidi became a fixture in America’s living room as she worked side-by-side husband Chris Powell on ABC’s hit show, “Extreme Weight Loss.” Heidi empowered thousands across the globe as the matriarch and tour de force for the often-struggling participants, serving as their daily fitness coach, voice of reason and biggest cheerleader. Season 5 premiered to high ratings in 2015, and the Powells continue to touch lives weekly as EWL airs in syndication on TLC and OWN networks worldwide.

What do you love most about Mesa, AZ?

Besides the beautiful weather and sunshine year-round (yes, I even love the hot months!), what I love most about Arizona is that my whole family is here. Home truly is where the heart is, and my heart lives in Mesa, AZ which is the place I was raised, went to school, and started my family.

What’s your favorite breakfast meal and restaurant?

My daily go-to breakfast is ALSO my “daily hug” as we’ll call it. I drink a protein shake and combine it with a Starbucks Marshmallow Dream Bar, paired with a Grande iced coffee with one pump of mocha! It’s the one indulgent thing I eat every single day that keeps me sane – ha! Really, it keeps cravings at bay and helps ensure I don’t overdo my other meals throughout the day.

As far as my favorite restaurant? I’d have to say any Houston’s restaurant. We rarely eat out, but when we do I love steak, potatoes, and a good salad.

What’s your favorite power lunch spot or meal?

As of recent, I’ve been hooked on Nekter. Their acai bowls and green drinks are to die for!

What are you usually doing at:

6:00AM - Waking the kids up, making sure they eat a breakfast that contains some protein, throwing on a pair of jeans, a tank top, and flip flops, and running out the door!

10:00AM - Making business calls, responding to an endless stream of text messages, jumping on a Skype call for a podcast, or running to an appointment!

12:00PM - Possibly trying to squeeze in a workout and then stopping at the Starbucks drive thru for a marshmallow dream bar and an iced coffee (if I didn’t already do it earlier)!

7:00PM - Running the kids around to dance class, gymnastics, basketball practice, and piano lessons (probably while making the last phone calls for the day).

11:00PM - Responding to emails that I missed throughout the day, editing my daily blog post, and writing a caption for an Instagram post. I’ll also most likely be working on the schedule for the next crazy day!

What drink do you need to get through the day (and how many)?

Grande iced coffee, with one pump mocha, (no classic) and a side of heavy cream. I usually need at least two per day!

My favorite is @realchrispowell of course! I also love @lewishowes. He is so great at verbalizing powerful, relatable messages and life lessons!

What do you think everyone should try at least once?

Doing something, ANYTHING, that makes you uncomfortable! Maybe it’s indoor skydiving, maybe it’s running a marathon, or maybe it’s just being vulnerable with your spouse. The things we do that are most uncomfortable are usually the things that help us grow the most.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I’m a control freak, so I don’t like getting lost! But if I HAD to get lost somewhere, it would be in my house with my family. It’s the only place I’d happily stay forever and ever, while happily losing track of time and letting everything in the outside world slide by the wayside. For a week, at least- then, I’d need to find some work to do!
