SHARON GOOD: LIFE, CAREER, CREATIVITY & RETIREMENT COACH; LIFE COACH TRAINER; & AUTHOR

Sharon Good, BCC, ACC, CLC, president of Good Life Coaching Inc., based in New York City, brings a rich variety of personal and professional experience to her twenty-year career as a Life, Career, Creativity and Retirement Coach. With her extensive creative background in publishing, theatre, photography and graphic design, she coaches artists to achieve their creative and professional goals and helps individuals from all walks of life create fulfilling lives, unique career paths and enriching retirements.  

Sharon is also passionate about teaching. She trains Life Coaches for the Life Purpose Institute, the Creativity Coaching Association and New York University School of Professional Studies. At the 92nd Street Y, she offers workshops on personal and professional growth. Through her publishing arm, Good Life Press, she is the author of several books, including Creative Marketing Tools for Coaches and The Tortoise Workbook: Strategies for Getting Ahead at Your Own Pace.

What do you love most about Your City?

The culture! I’m an avid theatre-goer and love going to museums and trying new restaurants. New York has the best of everything.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

Eggs with spinach and tomatoes, toast, sausage, a side of melon and sliced bananas, and a nice hot cup of tea. I like to vary that with pancakes or oatmeal. I have breakfast at home. For weekend brunch, I love West Bank Café.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM –  Sleeping. I work late several evenings, so I don’t get up too early.

10:00 AM – I start my day meditating, turn on the computer to check email and do the LA Times Crossword Puzzle, then have the above-mentioned breakfast. After breakfast, I shower, dress and start work, which may be meeting with clients, developing workshops, teaching or writing.

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Lunch is usually at home. I don’t like to take time to cook in the middle of the day, so I may have an Amy’s Organic frozen entrée, make a sandwich or heat a can of soup. I live in an area packed with great restaurants. I recently met a colleague for lunch at FUEL, which has great healthy food and drinks.

7:00 PM -  This is dinner time. On some evenings, I teach Life Coaching classes for the Life Purpose Institute at 8:30 pm. On occasional Mondays, I would be starting a class at the 92nd Street Y.

11:00 PM – I sneak in reading time during the day, so evenings are for catching up on my favorite TV shows, browsing through mail-order catalogs, catching up on personal email and relaxing.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

I love black tea with milk and sparkling water, which I sip throughout the day.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

I mostly use Facebook.

What should everyone try at least once?

Going abroad. It’s easy to get tunnel-visioned in your own world. When you travel, you get exposed to different cultures. You realize that there are great people everywhere, despite the politics.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I love visiting London and exploring the different neighborhoods. As I do in NYC, I love going to theatre, visiting museums and taking day trips to historic sites. A favorite highlight is dinner and a show at the Royal National Theatre.
