Tracy McCormick is a seasoned Entertainment Industry professional. She is a veteran of radio on both sides of the microphone. After opting to move on from music management, Tracy chose to represent Spectra Music Group as an A&R executive, and will always keep her heartbeat in the music industry.
Continually wearing a business development and production hat, she founded the Creative Edge Film Festival, and Lightfinder PR, a boutique public relations firm which specializes in the arts, entertainment, nonprofits, and veterans.
Tracy consciously creates on all levels. As the former Director of Media and Public Relations for Maharishi Foundation, she spearheaded the PR campaign for Actor Jim Carrey's 2014 commencement speech at Maharishi University of Management. She also consulted with the David Lynch MFA in Film Program and MA in Sustainability. Ms. McCormick brings a diverse skill-set in building any brand; a team player, good with people, can read between the lines and is fluent in current digital marketing trends. Tracy has led public relations campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. She can lead a conference team, write, produce, execute events, develop, implement, and generate leads that others may not. She represented Olympic Athlete Anita DeFrantz, who serves as VP of the International Olympic Committee.
Tracy has developed extensive relationships with all branches of the US Military and The White House. Her work with U.S. Veterans is a passion. She represented WWII Veteran Captain Jerry Yellin until his death on December 21, 2017, and served on the Board of Directors for Operation Warrior Shield working with actress Scarlett Johansson who supports veterans. She also served on the Board of Advisors for Valley Of The Sun (Desert Foothills) YMCA. Aside from years in the trenches creating opportunities, Ms. McCormick is as well, a delight as a person, and brings a warmth and sensibility to any situation. "She can go from a roadhouse to The White House with a smile on her face!" Tracy lives from one place in her belief that "Only with the Heart, can you touch the Sky."
What do you love most about Your City?
“No longer chaste to the confines of Gaia...wanton I AM, tis' true. Deeply enthralled with the Sonoran Desert and the Pacific Ocean in Malibu. What's a woman to do? Write a poem about it.” I’ve been most fortunate to be “bi-city” for the past two years working and living in between LA and Scottsdale, AZ. When I’m in Los Angeles, my favorite spot to relax is Topanga State Beach in Malibu. In Arizona, I live a Carefree life at Civana Carefree.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
I start my day with illy coffee in an old school stove-top espresso maker. My favorite meal all day long is the organic brown rice breakfast bowl at Inn of The Seventh Ray in Topanga, CA. In Arizona, I’m a longtime devotee of the Royal Palms Resort for dining and reverie with views of Camelback Mountain.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Going through instagram, twitter, and facebook as if it’s the Sunday newspaper.
10:00 AM -Usually on a conference call or google chat collaborating with a client or an editor.
12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
I like to take a flower power walk in nature somewhere at lunchtime to recharge my spirit. If I have a lunch meeting scheduled with a client or potential client, I prefer somewhere low key and quiet so we can focus and cover key business points and goals.
7:00 PM - At a media event, or for a walk on the beach or local park. I’m passionate about cooking, so if I’m home, I like to make a healthy meal for myself or close friends and eat outside under the moonlight.
11:00 PM - I’m usually in bed with tea and a good book. The phone is always nearby for a final late night swoop through my clients social media accounts and my business emails.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
In moments of clear sailing or crisis communication, the water from my Berkey Water Filter keeps my well-BEing hydrated and clear to ride the waves.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
I like Alexa Analytics for research and analysis, Amazon for life, and Instagram @overheardinla for human hilarity and fascination.
What should everyone try at least once?
Living in the present and ayurvedic massage aka Abhyanga.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
In a song, a poem, or someone’s eyes.
