Lauren Winton knew she was going to work in technology since she was a kid. At age 8 she requested a palm pilot for Christmas. Her family encouraged her to keep down this odd path and she started to explore other related avenues. In high school she was introduced to video editing and fell in love. From then on she knew that was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
She went to college for post production in Santa Fe, then Denver. Interned and worked for a small stint in NY then settled back into Denver with the help of a teacher from college. The fast pace lifestyle of NY and extreme competition in LA was not where she seemed to fit in. Her company Winton Media was founded in 2008 with the goal of producing compelling content with the aid of a handpicked crew of established professionals that she has created strong relationships with. In Denver, Winton Media has built strong relationships with local production houses, ad agencies, non-profits and storytellers. Lauren has recently been traveling more and more to edit on site all over the country.
My Goal of the Day: Making mental pictures of what raised my creative curiosity.
My Thought of the Day: At the 3% Conference I heard this quote: “Self care boundaries are accepting NO as a complete sentence.”
My Action of the Day: Practicing mindfulness and restraint when navigating the constant flow of ideas and thoughts into some sort of productive form. I have pretty severe ADD. The struggle is real.
My Deed of the Day: Attending and editing on site for the 3% Conference, which focuses on expanding diversity in creative fields.
My Tip of the Day: Take more time to slow things down in your life. We weren't put on this earth to work and die.

A Day in My Life:
What do you love most about Your City?
I love the equal proximity to the mountains and the city. I love that you can drive 15 minutes to a new area that is different from the next. I love that Denver continues to focus on community goals. I love that everyone that has never been to Denver thinks it snows 365 days a year…..It doesn’t.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
2 eggs over medium, 2 pieces of bacon, fruit and a gf english muffin. In the life of Lauren, dairy and gluten are poison. But….I mean some times it’s not worth the fuss.
Lucile's Creole Cafe in Wash Park is incredible. The hour long wait for the most glorious biscuits and beignets is so worth it. And if you fancy a bloody mary…I have heard it’s the best in the city.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Getting trampled on by my 2 dogs, which seems to be getting earlier and earlier. Making coffee, heading to my office, playing with the dogs all in my pajamas.
10:00 AM - Changing out of my pajamas, maybe. Catching up on emails, starting on some edits, possibly heading to a meeting or enjoying breakfast that my boyfriend cooks for me……everyday. I know. I’m a lucky gal.
12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?
Denver Central Market in RiNo- Izzio - Paleo Bowl - Green Chile with chorizo, over easy eggs, plantains and cilantro. RiNo (River North) is one if my favorite neighborhoods in Denver. It has been up incoming for some time and with the rise in population of Denver, many businesses have expanded North, causing the addition of new restaurants, bars and workspaces in what used to be a desolate part of town.
Also in that area is my favorite coffee shop - Crema. JUST GO!
7:00 PM - Hopefully not still working. Having dinner….that more then likely has been made by my boyfriend. Once again….I’m not worthy.
11:00 PM - Watching reruns of The Office or Parks and Rec., or searching for a good scary movie and snuggling some puppies.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
1 Coconut Milk Latte almost every morning. Maybe another cup of coffee if I’m exhausted.
After - Anything with Mezcal……depends on the day.
Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?
@vice, @beck, @teamcoco, @myfavoritemurder
What should everyone try at least once?
Your favorite foods when you were a kid. Most likely they will be disgusting. I loved canned Vienna sausages……nasty.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
Anywhere I travel with my work. You learn a lot about yourself when you are forced to be alone in a new city. Especially for an extrovert.
