Lori Rosen is president and founder of Rosen Group, a full service public relations firm founded in 1984 with headquarters in New York City. The firm implements national media and branding campaigns – utilizing a combination of broadcast, print and digital media – with the overarching goal of exceeding client expectations. Since its inception, The Rosen Group has had the great fortune of partnering with leading companies and organizations including Time Inc., Sony, PBS, Land Rover, Lincoln Center, AARP, Smithsonian, American Wind Energy Association, Reader’s Digest, Consumer Reports, Hearst, Remy Amerique and Nielsen Business Media. The Rosen Group produces top quality collateral material, direct mail pieces and information brochures. Working closely with her staff of highly talented, creative professionals, Lori has a team approach to account management.
Lori began her public relations career in 1977 at John Adams Associates Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm. She was involved in public awareness campaigns for major trade associations including the Environmental Industry Council, American Pyrotechnics Association, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Investment Company Institute, Home Recording Rights Coalition and Chemical Manufacturers Association. Beginning in 1980, Lori served as the New York liaison for the Washington, D.C. firm John Adams Associates, overseeing the launch of its New York City satellite. Projects included the implementation of a media tour on child safety seats for Chrysler Corporation and executive speaking engagements for American Express Co. Prior to establishing The Rosen Group, Lori handled sales and marketing for the retail advertising category at Fairchild Publications, making her furlough into advertising sales in 1982. A year later, she was involved in the launch of a giftware trade publication, where she was the number one advertising sales executive. A graduate of The George Washington University, Lori lives in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, with Marshall Grupp and their two children, Holden and Cyerra. She is passionate about politics, running, the HBO series Newsroom and Showtime’s Homeland.

My Action of the Day: Everything—from brainstorming with colleagues to making sure the proverbial to do list shrinks into oblivion.
What do you love most about Your City?
I moved here in 1980 from Washington, DC and the novelty has never worn off. I love early mornings in New York, when the city is starting to transform from waking up to pure bedlam. In the early hours, the streets are relatively empty, food places are starting to open and the city sounds are more pronounced. It is a true feeling of the calm before the storm.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
I love eggs in any incarnation-Michael’s is still my favorite breakfast spot.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – Halfway through boot camp and feeling good.
10:00 AM – Usually the first round of what needs to be done is complete so I’m ready to do a few one off emails.
12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?
Now that we’ve moved to Chelsea my favorite new place for lunch is Momofuku Nishi on 8th Avenue & 21st Street for the Bucatini Pasta. There is really nothing better. I’ve tried all of their other pasta dishes and this is primo. For nicer lunches, the default is Gramercy Tavern, also close by.
7:00 PM - I am walking the dog, rain, shine, sleet or hail, because no one else will in my house. Maybe that’s why I’m his favorite.
11:00 PM – Pretending to stay awake to watch the opening of Stephen Colbert, but I am already fast asleep.
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
I am an avid coffee drinker and happy to report that yet another new study supports my habit. Coffee is good for you! I try to limit daily intake to 3-4 medium (ok large) cups a day.

I follow all of my clients’ Instagram accounts – so no favorites there.
What should everyone try at least once?
Completing a Marathon. There is nothing better.
Where do you enjoy getting lost?
Sounds like a cliché but I’ll go with Paris.
