Jenny Ng Mei Mei: Filmmaker

My NativeAdVert:

Jenny is from a tiny city island called Singapore. Like every other Singaporean, she studied hard in school and earned herself a business degree. But right after graduation, she decided against being too predictable. Without any experience, she ventured into the creative field. First as an advertising copywriter, then a scriptwriter, and now, a TVC director. Due to her several identities rolled into one, she would rather be known as a Creative Dabbler. Someone who dabbles with ideas and possibilities, because there is no end to her imagination. Her main career? She thinks, she daydreams, she writes, she films. For the past 15 years, she has been keeping her mind and soul busy with her writing, storytelling and filmmaking craft.

My Goal of the Day: To start and end each day with a smile.

My Thought of the Day: What should I eat today that will make me really happy?

My Action of the Day: To wake, to pray, to work.

My Deed of the Day: To have been alive and well enough to get to work.

My Tip of the Day: To be thankful for everything you have and don’t have.

My Pic of the Day: (any additional pic that expresses something special)

I like to spot stray cats on the streets. And trust me, they are always looking at my lenses.

A Day in My Life:

What do you love most about Your City?

A peaceful nation. A strong (but unfair) government system. A city spoilt with choices.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

Singapore’s hawker centres. Google it please, they have everything.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – On a good day, I will be dreaming my last set of dreams and remembering it at 8am.

On a better day, I will be sitting behind the monitor on a shoot set, giving instructions on the walkie talkie, and directing my LAST scene.

10:00 AM – The time when my mind starts with nothing so I can fill it with something as the minute ticks by.

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Homecooked meals with loved ones at home. Best.

7:00 PM -  Shooting up from my seat and flying out of the office door. Especially if I’ve been stuck inside the whole day.

11:00 PM – Lying in bed, giving a prayer of thanks and dreaming my final daydream.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Water at 56 degrees. At least 2 litres.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Any cat fanatic.

What should everyone try at least once?

Going under General Anesthesia. Or eating pig’s ears.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

My neighbourhood. So I can get back home right after.
