What do you love most about Your City?

It feels cliche to say the weather, but it’s true. It’s gorgeous in L.A. pretty much all the time. As it turns out, I am a calmer, happier person in a sunshine drenched climate. I lived in New York City for seven years before making the move to the West Coast a couple years ago, and while I love a million things about NYC, I don’t miss the weather one bit. Try walking outside when it’s 72 & sunny and be in a bad mood. It won’t last long.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

During the week, my go-to’s are scrambled eggs, fruit, oatmeal, or almond milk yogurt. On the weekend, I’m a sucker for a breakfast sandwich. There’s a cute neighborhood spot called Met Her At A Bar that doesn’t disappoint.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Getting ready to walk out the door, usually with a coffee in hand. The destination varies by day. Some days it’s Equinox for a workout - strength training, running, or a yoga class. Some days it’s driving to my residential training clients. And some days it’s none of the above and I’m still in bed. Which is wonderful.

10:00 AM - Probably sitting at my desk, either working on my own content and fitness events (like FITWEEK) or working with brands to create content (most recently PUMA, New York City Ballet, theCURVYcon, Do the Good Stuff). I’m entrepreneurial by nature and usually have a few projects going on at the same time.

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Salads are my favorite lunch - with lots of greens and a protein. Always avocado. Still searching for the best salad spot in L.A.

7:00 PM - Probably finishing dinner. My husband Andy is the chef in our house and he has never made a bad meal in his life (he also says I would make a terrible food critic).

11:00 PM - Definitely asleep. I cherish my 8+ hours each night as that was not the case in my NYC life.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

I feel best when I drink water consistently throughout the day. Also love my morning coffee. Occasional afternoon Kombucha. And sparkling water bc it feels fancy lol.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Instagram and Spotify get the most action on my phone. As for a favorite account, lately it’s @glennondoyle. She is an author and activist who has a way of speaking such truth, and always does so with compassion and humor. I also follow a lot of writers and poets - because anyone that can bring some inspiration or light into my life (whether digital or in person) is a keeper.

What should everyone try at least once?

Doing what you think you can’t. Because all it takes is proving yourself wrong once to know that we are the only ones standing in our way. Fear is often a guidepost, and I’ve found that life expands when you leap into that fear.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

Any big city that I can walk around and just be immersed in the energy. I love to take pictures of whatever catches my eye and wander the streets with no agenda. Paris is a favorite for this - the 3rd, 10th, and 11th arrondissements. The lower east side of NYC is also a favorite, but it’s unlikely I will get lost :)
