Chef Spider Harris: Spillover Oyster Bar & Executive Chef, The Kush Hospitality Group

Chef Spider has been cooking professionally in restaurants for over 40 years. He started his culinary career in LA and from there has cooked in all over the country from Atlanta, New Orleans, Washington D.C. and for last 20 years in Miami. He is the Executive Chef of the Kush Hospitality Group and has opened all their concepts including LoKal, Kush and Spillover. When he's not working he is riding his bike through the streets of Coconut Grove or fostering one of the many dogs he and his wife Judith care for. He is not only a world class chef but with the help of Judith he is also a leader in making the world better within the dog community.

What do you love about your city?

Miami has the best weather, surrounded by water and fresh seafood and being in a melting pot of culture. We are in the capital of South America but inside the US.

Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict, LoKal

What are you doing at:

6am: Office work, checking invoices

10am: Prepping deserts for the lunch shift.

12 PM: Favorite power lunch meal?

My favorite power lunch/meal is at my house cooking any type of curry. I’m a homebody.

7pm: shucking oysters for the dinner pop

11pm: Having a bedtime single malt scotch with bourbon marinated cherries.

I have been drinking my joint juice every day for 15 years, just one a day.
