What do you love most about NYC?
I’ve been living in NYC for 28 years and it still feels exciting and fresh. I love how multi-cultural the city is and how we live our lives talking and living side by side with people from all over the world. In a country where it feels like people are afraid of foreigners, New Yorkers embrace multiculturalism. I ride my bike to the office every morning and it’s the most energizing way to start my day. I simply love NYC.
We’re a bunch of food snobs in NYC because we know we have the best restaurants. High or low end, this is foodie paradise. My favorite meal out of the apartment is simple and down to earth and it’s always with my family and often friends. Our neighborhood Italian has a fantastic intimate ambiance, great food and great service and you can always get a seat. Simplicity has become key in my busy life so I really appreciate Terra in Tribeca.
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – sleeping and usually having a crazy dream. I’m very lucky, my husband brings me a cup of coffee in bed every morning at 7. He’s been doing this for as long as we have been married.
10:00 AM - There is absolutely nothing routine about my life or my personality so there’s really no guarantee I’m doing any of the following, but chances are; I’m either in the office meeting with my team or I may be meeting with clients or on a job site. I travel quite often since we have projects all over the country so I’m often on a two or three day trip to one of the projects.
12:00 PM - Its lunch time!!! I always get the exact same salad from an Italian restaurant right next to our office. Spinach, carrots, tomatoes, grilled chicken, carrots and peppers with olive oil and vinegar. And I always ask them not to put the salad in a bag! (I hate how wasteful we are with plastic bags)
7:00 PM - At this time I am either just getting home to my girls and husband Jaime, who is usually cooking. Although a big part of me wants to go and shut myself in a closet as soon as I get home to get some “me” time, I’m always happy to catch up with my girls and find out about their day. My oldest daughter just left for college so our family got a little smaller. If she wasn’t so ridiculously happy at College, I might feel a little sad. Is following your kids on Instagram when they go off to college is a good idea…?
11:00 PM - At 11pm I’m tucked in bed either wasting time catching up on social media or binge watching a show with my daughters knowing we should go to bed but deciding if we should watch just one more episode.
Manhattan, straight up with Bourbon.
Where do you enjoy getting lost in NYC?
I really love biking around the Lower East Side and Chinatown. Last week I went to meet friends on a street called Monroe Street…I have never heard of that street! I moved to TriBeCa 28 years ago when people didn’t know where that was either and now it’s so popular. I like how unfamiliar the LES is to me and that I am always discovering little unknown gems.
