Fernando Wong has been called “one of the most influential landscape designers in America” by Elle Décor, “a genius with the soul of a poet” by Garden Design Magazine, a “landscape legend” by Forbes, “the Four Seasons Landscaping genius” by Forbes Travel Guide, and “the creative mind behind Miami’s lushest landscapes” by Architectural Digest. He and his work have also been featured in the New York Times, House Beautiful, the Wall Street Journal, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Departures, Interior Design and Wallpaper. His commercial projects include the Four Seasons Hotels & Residences at The Surf Club in Miami, with Richard Meier, Joseph Dirand and Lee Mindel, as well as the Four Seasons Palm Beach and the new Four Seasons Resort in Fort Lauderdale where he collaborates with designers Martin Brudnizki and Tara Bernerd. He also recently completed a new Starwood Luxury Collection Hotel in Savannah called the Perry Lane and is currently working on two projects for the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group.
Wong recently undertook a renovation of the landscape for the Soho Beach House in Miami Beach, the design of the sculpture garden at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Museum in Miami’s Design District and the design for a national park for the Bahamian National Trust in Nassau. He has residential projects around the world and was recognized as one of the top Landscape Architectural Firms in the United States by Ocean Home Magazine. He was chosen as the landscape designer for the inaugural Kips Bay Palm Beach Show House, CASACOR Miami and all of the Elle Decor Art Basel Miami Show Houses. He was honored with the prestigious 2018 Lesly S. Smith Landscape Award from the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach, as well as a 2018 LUXE Magazine RED Award. He was the youngest recipient of the Design Center of the America’s Star of Design Award for Landscape Architecture in 2011 and has offices in Miami Beach, Palm Beach and Southampton.

Palm Beach is small and the people are friendly, eager to meet newcomers, and always up for a party.
Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?
Oatmeal with fruit pool side at the Colony Hotel. It doesn’t get better than that!
What are you doing at:
6:00 AM – I like to start my mornings with a quick yoga session.
10:00 AM – By this time you can find me sketching away at my desk.
12:00 PM - Favorite Power Lunch spot/meal?
At 12pm, I am likely still busily sketching away.
7:00 PM – Enjoying a drink (or two) at Buccan.
11:00 PM - Asleep!
What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?
Perrier Lime Flavored Water - 8 glasses a day.
At the end of the day I like a good glass of Pinot Noir or, if I am really feeling crazy, an Aperol Spritz.
