How did you get into the industry?
I started my career working in Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, that was when I pursued my first Postgraduate Degree in Oncology at the Prestigious Hospital of Cancer in São Paulo.
I worked at renowned hospitals in Brazil, during this experience, I learned the other side of a Lymphatic System, when it is already compromised, so I became an expert in this system and the kind of issues it can bring when not working well, after years working with Oncology, I decided to get a second Postgraduate Degree in Aesthetics focusing on Lymphatic Drainage.
I began to work attending patients in post Cosmetic Surgery doing in-home visits, as the Lymphatic Drainage is essential for recovery and offers faster healing in these cases.
After all these years of experience in Brazil, I moved to London with my family and then became a Lymphatic Drainage therapist, working as a Specialist ever since.
Any emerging industry trends?
By understanding women’ needs throughout all stages of life and wellbeing, I realize that women want besides benefiting from all the benefits of Lymphatic Drainage also want to improve toning, body contouring, and haven't only an improvement in their physical state but also mental, a treatment that is light and effective, providing well-being for the whole body. Thinking of this I developed my own methodology (Ana Trida Therapist Method) that is a mix of health benefits, It improves the body as a whole using a great combination of Manual Lymphatic Drainage techniques that stimulates the Lymphatic System to work better and is intended to eliminate the excess of liquids, toxins, strengthen the immune system, increasing tissue oxygen, improving circulation by specific movements using gentle pressure to reduce fluid retention. After that, starts precise manoeuvres of Modelling Massage, executed firmly and quickly which can reduce cellulitis, regenerate the tissues, relax the muscles, improve the skin appearance, and overall tones the body.
Any industry opportunities or challenges?
Doing Home visits, I realize that clients appreciate the convenience of not having to leave home, not spending time moving to a schedule. I take a Spa to the home of each client, my treatment is performed in the client's own bed in the most comfortable way, intended to offer a unique experience. Even though you have many cozy clinics, the quiet environment of home is still the favorite.
