Nils Chudy: Co-Founder of Miito

Originally from Berlin, Germany, Nils received a Bachelor degree in Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. With his natural curiosity and strong passion for technology, Nils enjoys taking things apart and rethinking how to make things new from the ground up. Most recently, this has led to him landing back in Berlin to help lead the launch of MIITO into full-scale production.

What’s Your NativeAdVantage:

What do you do best?

I learn quickly!

One of my teachers at the Design Academy Eindhoven said: “make mistakes – and make them fast” – he meant: you will make mistakes no matter what. The trick though is to make the mistakes fast and learn from them – you will most likely never repeat the same mistake twice! And that's exactly what I live by: go full speed and once I hit a wall running, I get back up and reflect what just happened – I will never hit that same wall again, that's for sure!!!

What makes you the best?

My co-founder!

Jasmina and I give each other the energy needed to found a company together! Everyday she tries to surprise me with another great and new idea, and I try the same! At the same time this eagerness to always surprise and do something even better pushes each of us to reach levels we could have never thought we could reach before.

How will you become the best?

CURIOSITY – I will never quit on my passion to learn new things.

What are your aspirations?

I want to leave a mark in the world – even if it is just a scratch!

It is never good enough: 110% or nothing!

People: Who do you want to meet?

I would love to meet Jonathan Ive, designer at Apple. I admire the vision of their design department and the way Jonathan leads!

Places: Where do you want to go?

I would love to experience outer space – the absolute emptiness and the infinite distance – that's something that triggers me a lot!

Products: What do you want to have?

I love watches! The absolute precision and beauty of simple and minimal watches capture my whole attention at once! I am in love with the minimal and beautiful aesthetics of Braun watches – I would love to have one!

Passions: What hobbies/interests do you want to learn/excel at?

I have started to notice that there is one key thing I need to learn: I need to learn to shut off my work-brain almost at the push of a button. I noticed that I can do this very well while doing sports where I need to concentrate and be able to adapt to a new situation very quickly: such as Kitesurfing. So I guess if I were to do Kitesurfing more frequently, I could be efficient and achieve two goals at once: learn to shut my work-brain off and enjoy Kitesurfing
