Andrea Franchini is Director of Events, Partnerships & Development of Hotel Americano. A native Italian having worked with the brand for over two years, Andrea exercises a unique creativity in his execution of thoughtful and curated events for the hotel through his expertise in the fields of hospitality, art, fashion, and design.

What do you do best?

I believe that my best strength is connecting people. I do like to call myself a “little alchemist”, as I enjoy mixing people who have different backgrounds and the most diverse stories. Like in chemistry, you must understand the different elements and have to be able to play carefully with them, but at the end the result is always great.

What makes you the best?

Working with a team of honest and passionate people makes me feel confident and strong. Additionally, I also feel that making mistakes helps me to be better, as both mistakes and failures are necessary steps to climb in order to learn more and reach your next goals.  As Sam Beckett once said “Ever tried. Ever failed. No Matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better”

How will you become the best?

I believe that to become the best, you first need to put together a great team. Once that first step is achieved, I find success in under-promising and over-delivering.

What are your aspirations?

Personal: I started collecting photographs only a few years ago, but slowly and while chatting with artists and art dealers who are often at Hotel Americano. I became very passionate about it and it's almost like a disease. My expanding collection (which is currently still tiny!) contains American photographers such as Larry Clark, Peter Hujar, Jack Pierson, Bruce Weber and many others

Business: My biggest business aspirations come from Hotel Americano. I feel very satisfied and extremely happy about what I'm doing there -  it gives me a lot of freedom to be creative but also develop in my career.  Hotel Americano’s brand awareness and ability of delivering a unique experience to each guest has really grown lately, and I do feel that my career is developing with it.

I am still young and feel the need to continue to learn and gain more experience in the industry, I am happy of what I have been able to achieve up to this point: so far all the decisions I have taken, have led to the right path.
