Lauren Reeder: Actress, Writer & Creator

My NativeAdVantage:

Lauren Reeder was born in Carlsbad, CA in 1984. It wasn't until 2001 that she would be introduced to the world of performing in her first high school play.  After graduating high school, she enrolled at the University of California, Irvine where she would major in Drama. Though the wonderful musical theater program at UCI was extremely fulfilling, she couldn't quite shake her deep love for film acting.  After graduating in 2006, she made the choice to move directly to Los Angeles without any experience in the film industry. After years of struggle, she decided to take matters into her own hands and created/wrote/produced her own show called Living with Models, which can currently be seen as a feature on HelloGiggles (Zooey Deschanel's female driven site) every Friday or at: In between acting gigs, Lauren is currently in pre production on the third season of Living with Models, which will also be starring Teri Polo (Meet the Parents, The Fosters).  Her most recent film, Crush the Skull, just premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and will be making the festival rounds throughout the year.

What’s Your NativeAdVantage:

What do you do best?

I think I operate best in high stress level situations. I'm not sure if that's always a good thing, but it's always been true for me. When I am overcoming obstacles, I thrive. I also multi-task well.

What makes you the best?

Well, I wouldn't call myself the best. I would say that word is subjective. I would say I'm a capable person who always means well. I always try to put out the best work I can. I don't know if that always happens, but it's what I strive for.

How will you become the best?

I think there are two things that makes someone "the best." First, just NEVER giving up. And second, never settling in your work. That's when television writing sometimes loses me. When I can tell that they love their own work a little too much. They get comfortable. I want to somehow stay in that uncomfortable area even when I've finally got my dream job.

What are your aspirations?

Personal: To be the best person I can be. Treat everyone well. Have fun along the way.

Business: To be given the opportunity to work with the top level of creators, writers, and actors that I respect.

What fascinates you?

People in Los Angeles who are supportive for no reason. It always shocks me to my core. In this town it is rare to find people like that. And when you do, it feels like you are meeting a unicorn.
