Linda Tempelfelde: Licensed Real Estate Salesperson, Corcoran

My NativeAdVantage:

Originally from Latvia, Linda moved to the States on a full scholarship to play college tennis and earned her degree in International Business at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. She was a top 10 tennis player in her native country, and competed at the Division 1 level in college. Linda moved to New York in 2008, subsequently working in pharmaceutical sales and sports marketing. Her vibrant personality, business drive and creative thinking are among the qualities which have made her a success in real estate.

Accustomed to working with a diverse clientele of Americans, Chinese and Europeans, Linda is fluent in Latvian, Russian and English, plus has a strong understanding of Spanish, French and German which she studied for many years. She has traveled the world extensively, and continues to do so when time allows. Linda currently lives on Manhattan's Upper East Side and previously on the Upper West, but works with clients wherever they seek their next dream home. For fun she still enjoys playing tennis, dining out, visiting museums, and exploring the streets of NYC with her dog at her side.

What do you do best?

I get along with people very well. I am always being myself, not trying to sugarcoat anything. I say it the way it is. Also, I am a very positive person in general and always try to make people laugh.

What makes you the best?

I pride myself on being very ethical and honest with my clients. I often deal with agents who unfortunately do not care about their clients’ needs and are only in there for themselves. That’s not the way I prefer to do business and I am proud of that. Sophisticated buyers and sellers feel that. Doing the right thing pays off at the end of the day not only in business but in life in general. My reputation matters to me a lot.

How will you stay the best?

I will always stick to what I believe in and to my principles. At the end of the day, I always want to feel that I did the right thing for my client. Selling real estate is not just my job, it’s my passion and way of life. I think, live and breathe real estate and will always continue to educate myself and become better at what I do.

Biggest success?

The biggest success of my life is coming to U.S.A at the age of 18 alone from my native country of Latvia without speaking any English and knowing anybody. I earned a full athletic scholarship to study and play tennis at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Coming to America and especially continuing my tennis career here has been always a dream of mine.

I also dreamt about living in New York City and I achieved that goal after graduating from college. I never could have imagined that I would sell real estate in the most competitive and cutthroat market in the world. That’s another success that I am very proud of.

What are your aspirations?

Personal: I would like to have a family one day and live happily ever after :) .

I have been to 42 countries in the world so far and still have a list of places that I want to visit. I want to do a safari in Africa and travel trough India by train. Travelling is important. It’s an education and it the best way to spend your money.

Business: My main goal is to do each year better than in the previous. The most important thing is to grow and become a better version of yourself every day. The financial reward always comes if you do things right and stick to your goals.

Most challenging moment?

To come to the U.S. at the age of 18 without knowing any English and any people and leaving my family behind on the other side of the ocean in Latvia. That was very difficult.

Also, moving to New York City after graduating and literally not knowing one person in the city of millions.

Starting a real estate career has been also very challenging at the beginning. People think that we just do the showing and get paid a lot of money for it. There is so much more to it.

What fascinates you?

How big the world is….beautiful and interesting places that I have been to such as Australia, Japan, China, Morocco etc.

Also how many mean and jealous people are out there. Unfortunately…life is too short, wish people were nicer to each other and respected each other more.
