Nelson Campbell is the Executive Producer, Director and Co-Writer of PlantPure Nation. This film examines the political and economic factors that suppress information on the benefits of plant-based nutrition, while making the connections of this idea to larger issues such as medical practice, farming, and food deserts.
He also leads an organization that he established to create a financial mechanism for supporting a grassroots movement around the health message of plant-based nutrition (www.plantpurenation.com). Prior to this, he had 25 years of entrepreneurial experience building various companies.
Nelson has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University in political science and economics.
What do you do best?
Strategic development, speaking, writing and team-building
What makes you the best?
I don’t feel that I am the best, but I just try to do as good a job as possible. I have found that persistence and the humility to acknowledge mistakes (and learn from them) are the keys to success.
How will you become the best?
I strive to do better by acknowledging and learning from my mistakes and from others.
What are your aspirations?
Personal: To live a meaningful life, whether or not I make money living this way
Business: To build a business that improves the lives of others, and in the process, to create a financial engine that can be used to fund other socially meaningful initiatives
What fascinates you?
Other people and the natural environment
I don’t have a single favorite motto. I enjoy reading books on philosophy, politics and spirituality, and have read and reflected on many wise sayings from others.
I guess I am closest to my family, but I enjoy people in general.
Outdoors, in nature
I don’t have a favorite product. In fact, there is nothing I dislike more in my life than shopping for anything.
Reading, spending time with family, and doing work that is socially meaningful.
