Marco Bustamante serves as the General Manager for Capella Washington, D.C., Georgetown. Bustamante helms all hotel operations, maintaining continued excellence in guest relations, sales and marketing, food and beverage and other key hotel processes that build up the property’s successes.
Bustamante’s previous experience includes working at The Russian Tea Room in New York and at Thomas Keller’s Michelin three-starred Per Se in New York. In 2004, he began his tenure with Capella Hotel Group and joined Capella Pedregal as Executive Chef upon its opening in 2009 and was promoted to Executive Assistant Manager in 2012. At Capella Pedregal, Bustamante and the executive management team crafted truly exquisite experiences for guests culminating in the property receiving the prestigious AAA Five-Diamond Rating in 2012, one of the highest awards a luxury hotel could receive in the industry or from its peers.

I feel success is measured at different stages of your life. Early in one’s career, success is measured by the growth in your personal and professional life. Currently, I measure success by the growth and development of the teams and individuals I regularly work with.

Personal: To be a good a father and husband to my family.
Business: To positively impact my friends and colleagues in their professional careers.
Most challenging moment?
In the hospitality field you are faced with challenges constantly. By staying calm, using a problem solving approach, working with your teams and implementing an appropriate plan you can overcome most obstacles or challenges.
What fascinates you?
I am fascinated by creative people and the mental process creative people go through to showcase their craft.
