Morgan Turkewitz is well-versed in all aspects of the New York City residential real estate market. What do you do best?

I pride myself on truly listening to my clients’ needs - and ensuring they make smart, educated real estate decisions when it comes to selling and buying.  

For example: Before buyers put in an offer on an apartment I provide them with a thorough analysis of what the home is worth so that they do not overpay.

When working with sellers to list an apartment for sale, it is important to understand their goals, so I can develop the best pricing and marketing strategy for them.  Every situation is unique.

To better serve my clients, my team is available 7 days a week - at any time - for showings, advice and guidance.  

What makes you the best?  

There’s no substitute for hard work – and I never stop working.  In addition, one of my key responsibilities as an agent is to keep on top of ever-changing market conditions and inventory at all times.

For buyers, I help what can be a stressful and complicated process; become a rewarding and even fun experience.  I am there every step of the way - from the initial search, to the closing table and beyond.  

For sellers, I advise them on proper pricing strategies, keep them informed of current market conditions, provide staging help and implement effective marketing plans.  I keep sellers informed throughout the process as to all activity and feedback on the apartment.  

Biggest success?  

For me “success” is reached when I help solve a customer’s problem.  I had a client who wasn’t ready to sell her four-bedroom apartment even though she wanted to downsize. As a solution, I helped her rent out the home for a few years until she decided the time was right.

What are your aspirations?

Personal: I would love to purchase investment property and try my hand at being a NYC landlord.  

As a co-founder of a children’s charity called KidCare, one of my goals is to see the organization grow and raise more money and awareness each year.  http://www.kid-care.org/

Business: In business, I hope to grow my team, never stop learning, and continue to break my own records year after year.  

I would also like to keep building my listings business - and while I enjoy helping clients regardless of price point, grow my roster of high end / luxury properties.  

Most challenging moment?  

When I first started in the business I worked as an assistant to a successful real estate broker.  I was nervous to take the leap and become a full-time real estate agent with no set income.  I decided to do assistant work from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and would come in early, stay late and work on the weekends to establish and build my own real estate business.  My boss at the time told me that I wouldn’t reach my full potential until I devoted all of my time to my own business.  However, I found comfort in a salary.  I had bills to pay and I was saving money to move into the city as I was living at home.  After many talks (and even some tears) I made the decision to switch to a full-time real estate salesperson.  That was the most challenging moment for me, but it has been totally worth it.  I haven’t looked back, and I’ve used the knowledge I gained from my time as an assistant to become a top producing agent.

Favorite Places:

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to a lot of great places, but nothing beats my hometown of NYC.  South Africa, Aruba, Nashville and Puerto Rico are among my favorite destinations.  However, I am not opposed to a quick trip anywhere tropical or adventurous!
