What do you do best?
I’m a fantastic intuitive healer.
What makes you the best?
I’ve committed my life to self-study with the goal of using my deep practices to better know myself and others.
What are your aspirations?
I look forward to growing the five major initiatives I’ve put in place these last five years: Land Yoga Arts and Wellness Center, Soulfest Yoga Festival, Love Where You Land Retreats, Three and a Half Acres Yoga Non-Profit, to releasing The Sanctuary on www.landlaraland.com and publishing my first book.
My biggest success was getting my father through his coma this past year.
Most Challenging Moment?
I’ve had many challenges in my life which have forced me to question my practice and commitment to my path and each time I have come out stronger. Almost losing my father was definitely the most difficult, but each time I leave the comforts of the US for my annual 1-3 months of study in India there is always something or someone I am leaving. I lost my grandmother while in India, missed my dearest’s friend’s bachelorette, and been absent for countless holidays, birthdays, and other social engagements. Even when in the states, my promise to put practice first means early nights and earlier mornings. Like anyone, I have my moments when I feel misunderstood and wonder what it is all for. Fortunately I have something greater than that which is my discipline. It is the life rope which pulls me out of any challenge. I know if I just show up the why will appear and all the sweetness that comes with life long practice will be waiting.
Every great truth has an opposite that is equally true.
Favorite People/Role Models?
My teacher Sharath, my parents, my best friend Melissa, Einstein, and Bruce Springsteen.
Everywhere I have ever gone has been amazing to and changed me. I love New York City where I reside and I give the greatest thanks to India which is birth to my practice and has welcomed me annually. I’m fascinated with traveling the world though. I took a group to Tulum, Mexico and became instantly in love. Next I’m running a retreat to Iceland (www.landyoga.com/iceland) and after that, who knows… I have a couple life-changing places in mind. I’m obsessed with tapping into the energy of a place and helping others to do the same and to take its healing and awakening sensations home with them. That is what we do on my trips, so you will see me heading to some high vibrational locations and I hope you will join me for the ride!
I’ve very into crystals right now, most of which I have gotten from Gaia Collective’s monthly MoonBox.
