What do you do best?
I get people out of their heads. As humans, we tend to walk around preoccupied all day, so much so that we often fail to notice whatever's going on around us. I give my students the tools to stay focused on the present moment, because only then can we truly soak up all the beauty and grace that's been there all along.
What makes you the best?
I am honest. I don't aim to preach to my students, but rather to communicate with them in a real way. The Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita are wonderful, but not everyone is looking for a class on yogic philosophy when they step onto the mat. I work to express complex philosophical themes in a digestible, contemporary manner that students can use in their everyday lives.
What are your aspirations?
To learn. I'll never stop being a student, and the more I learn the more knowledge I have to pass onto my own students.
Overcoming asthma. As a child I was constantly in and out of doctor's offices. I couldn't get a common cold without ending up in the hospital with bronchitis or pneumonia. Yoga has helped me to not only breathe better, but to strengthen my immune system. Now when I get sick I heal quickly, and the illness never enters my lungs.
Most Challenging Moment?
Watching my mother go through cancer surgery and chemo. But she is currently six years cancer free!

My friends and family. I'm biased.
So many places left to visit! But so far-- Kauai, Hawaii. Luang Prabang, Laos. Rebgong, China. Pucon, Chile. San Sebastian, Spain. The Dordogne, France. Paris. New York City.
I don't use a ton of products, but here are the few things I find myself coming back to: Jivamukti Lavendar Aroma Lotion. Yogi Ginger Tea. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I use Jade mats, and for athletic wear I'm very into YOGASMOGA right now.
Yoga, travel, writing, singing, dancing like no one's watching-- because pretty much no one ever is.
