Widely respected in the industry as a new development specialist, Jillian has marketed, project managed, leased and sold residential and commercial properties in NYC closing nearly $150 million in transactions. "I've been privileged to work with leaders and high profile clientele who are at the top of their craft, from musical artists, film and television producers, directors, writers and actors. I enjoy working with creative professionals and cutting-edge developers." Jillian graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and has taken coursework at the Fashion Institute of Technology and The Wharton School of Business. She speaks fluent Spanish.
What do you do best?
I sell and lease new development projects in evolving neighborhoods that fill a unique gap in the marketplace. Many projects, years later are now considered prime neighborhoods and others are in areas that are slowly evolving one step at a time.
The product I offer is practical with a touch of luxury finishes like granite counters, wide plank bamboo floors and marble windowsills. I call them high value apartments with smart layouts. Many are attracted to my product for its crisp, new feel and often competes with very old product that has compromised plumbing, heating and dated interiors.
Although, the product I work with has a “touch of luxury”, I stay very well informed of NYC's and Miami’s luxury development market. I visit all new luxury projects as they come on the market. The artistry we are seeing right now is more inspiring than ever!
What makes you the best?
I treat each project like a child. Each project has a different personality that makes it special and unique. I have resided in two of the 20 projects that I have completed. The experience of living amongst residents who are also clients has expanded my roots in NYC and has weaved interesting interactions and relationships.
Also, having acted as a Fund Administrator for a $40M value-add fund, I was able to assist in the fundraising and acquisition process for several large multi-family apartment complexes in the southeast region of the United States.
What are your aspirations?
I aspire to evolve neighborhoods in responsible and respectful win-win increments. My current areas of interest are East Harlem and the best kept secret, The Bronx.
My career will be evolving in to real estate development in the coming years and all of my new development brokerage experience will be valuable in aspects that developers often rely on brokers for.
My biggest success is completing each project to the developer’s satisfaction. Every single time.
Most Challenging Moment?
My most challenging moment was in 2008 when the market crashed. I was in the middle of several projects that took much longer to sell than anticipated. Everyone was stressed and I had to keep going. This taught me the "living perseverance" of the real estate industry. This is now a character trait that will stay with me through all of life’s challenges.
"Imagination is more important than knowledge." –Albert Einstein
Real Estate is all about imagination! Some of the evolving neighborhoods that I have worked are North Williamsburg, Bed Stuy and Crown Heights. In 2005-2009 we had to continuously justify the product to developers and buyers alike. Now look at these neighborhoods. Currently my focus is East Harlem and The Bronx.
Albert Einstein, Swizz Beatz, Oprah, Kehinde Wiley, Jorge Perez of Related Properties and other developers who shall remain nameless for now.
Hot Yoga Studios, interesting hotel lobbies all over the world, Battery Park City, Flat Iron, Miami, Harlem, The Bronx and Jamaican fruit tree fields.
