What do you do best?

Helping others to understand how to eat for health and happiness. What we put in our body is a direct reflection of how we will feel and the energy we give off to others, yet so many people are confused about this. I have simplified nutrition and teach others that the food we eat is actually secondary to affecting us, whereas what we think is primary to our health and happiness.

What makes you the best?

My approach to a healthy lifestyle is extremely approachable. I will never tell you to cut out foods and don't believe telling someone to stop drinking or never have fast food again. It’s about incorporating healthier options and teaching you the best options, so you have the knowledge to make your own informed decisions. I love cooking, but not spending a lot of time in the kitchen so the recipes I create are incredibly simple, delicious, and good for you. I photograph everything to make it look approachable, beautiful, and tantalizing. The fact that I share positive posts along with food helps people to get into a healthier lifestyle over just sharing food.

What are your aspirations?

I have my sights set on creating an educational program or working with the White House to teach kids about meditation, healthy eating, how to cook, and ways to succeed in their lives. I think it’s so important to start teaching these things earlier in life and I can only imagine how much less stressed I would have been getting to where I am now. I also intend to revolutionize the health industry and start making people understand that health is sexy.

Biggest Success?

My biggest success has been growing my brand over the past few years from nothing. I started out with zero followers, almost no knowledge in the health field and managed to create a brand where I’m frequently featured in the media (with no PR help), have become a wellness expert, sold over 100,000 e-books, and signed a two book deal with Random House. The biggest success comes from looking at everything I’ve created by having passion about helping others. Success has been defined to me as being an entrepreneur and knowing that you are on the brink of failing, losing all your money you’ve invested and still pushing forward, no matter what happens. I’m also extremely proud of my first book, The 5-Day Real Food Detox, which comes out March 22. This is something that I’ve dreamed about my whole life and it’s a bit of a surreal moment to have it finally here and about to hit stores nationwide.

Most Challenging Moment?

I wouldn’t say there’s one in particular. The biggest thing is overcoming fear and self doubt, something that we all have. It’s that voice in my head that says I won’t be successful at something I’m trying to do, or that if I’m not successful x, y and z won’t happen. Overcoming these thoughts has definitely been the most challenging in my career, especially as an entrepreneur. It’s also been very rewarding knowing that I can overcome every fear that comes up and deal with it head on.

Favorite Motto?

“Wanting to be someone else is a waste of who you are.”- Marilyn Monroe. I love this because it took me many years to realize that I will never look like others or have the exact same career, yet once I made that connection my life became abundant and I now live a life that I absolutely love.

Favorite People?

Anyone who I feel inspired by! This can be someone I meet who works at a coffee shop that has incredibly energy and smiles a lot to someone like Deepak Chopra, who I recently met. I like spending my time with people who enjoy themselves and make others feel good.

Favorite Places?

Right now it’s Bali. The mix of culture, the people, food, location, and surroundings there that makes me feel at home. I feel very grounded and my creativity flows. At some point in the near future I will definitely start to spend a bit more time out there.

Favorite Products?

I love my Vitamix and Cuisinart food processor. You literally can create anything in both machines. I use them for different things but the Vitamix will definitely do the job.  I’m also loving coconut oil- I use it for literally everything from my skin, to hair, cooking… it’s kind of amazing stuff.

Current Passions?

Traveling! I will forever have an insatiable wanderlust. My other passion right now is getting my book out there as much as possible and signing on for a cooking show in the near future.
