Neda is a certified health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, has a certificate in Culinary Nutrition from the Natural Gourmet Institute and is currently completing her Master’s in Food Studies at NYU Steinhardt.
What do I do best?
I believe my strongest asset is cooking. I absolutely love spending time in the kitchen and preparing meals for the people I love. It relaxes me and gives me so much joy!
What makes me the best version of myself?
I am very driven and a lot of people refer to me as a perfectionist. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I am a Virgo, but I always strive to do my best and give 100%! I used to get so upset if I had any other grade besides A, and remember going up to my professors and asking how I can bring my B+ to an A… lol. When it comes to my work, I can’t do something halfway and I won’t give up or finish what I am working on until it is PERFECT!
What are my aspirations?
My goal at the moment is to have my own cookbook. This has been a dream of mine for many years and I have worked very hard for the past few years on improving my cooking skills and recipes. I have so many cookbooks at my house that when people come over they laugh… Knowing me they would assume I have Tom Ford laying on the coffee table but instead they see one of Giada’s cookbooks. I don’t cook from them, but mostly flip through the book the first day that I get it for inspiration and never open it again.
My Biggest Success?
My biggest success would have to be getting into NYU to complete my masters degree in Food Studies. My family was so happy for me, I remember jumping up and down on FaceTime with my grandma when we found out the news.
My Most Challenging Moment?
Moving on from past relationships and being able to forgive. This is not only for boyfriends but I mean it in terms of friendships as well. I have been hurt so many times in the pasts and it was very difficult for me to be able to let go. I learned that I must forgive these people because I realized when someone treats you so disrespectfully and is so spiteful, they have their own issues that they are going through and it actually has nothing to do with me. So, forgiveness is KEY!
Live without regrets and keep positive thoughts. If negative thoughts arise, just simply replace them with a positive affirmation!
There is four! Personal - my mom and grandma who have always been there for me and have supported me through some of the most difficult times of my life. They are my rock and I can share anything with them without being criticized or judged. Third person is my boyfriend. He is smart, kind, generous, loving, supports me in everything that I do and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn't for him. Fourth is business related and that is Tanya Zuckerbrot. She has been a role model for me since I was 16 years old and is one of the most incredible, thoughtful and beautiful women I know.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
I love the Greek islands and Italy! I spend a lot of time in Greece with my family, especially during the summer months. Italy also has a special part in my heart because of my boyfriend. When we started dating, I had been all over Europe but Italy was the one country I hadn't visited. Since then, he has taken me all over Italy and two of our favorite locations are Portofino and Capri.
My Favorite Products/Objects?
I would say Rocky, my grandma’s dog but since he is not a product then I really can’t live without my photo albums, curling iron, double battery phone case, food processor, and chef knives!
My Current Passions?
Cooking… not to sound repetitive but this is definitely my number 1 passion. I LOVE creating nutritious recipes, and showing people that they can take something unhealthy such as a carb loaded pizza and make a healthy twist by using cauliflower as the crust!
