Chris Paquette is a technologist and innovator who serves as CEO and Co-founder of DeepIntent, moment-based marketing technology company. With a background in machine learning-based systems, Chris built DeepIntent with the mission to become an efficient programmatic marketplace in the industry with AI at its core. DeepIntent is headquartered in New York City. Previously, Chris applied natural language processing and AI technologies at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center through textual analysis of medical records, exposing correlations in certain diseases and outcomes. Since the start of his career, Chris has approached complex domains through a creative lense, designing technical solutions with far-reaching impact. Most recently, Chris led his team at DeepIntent to an acquisition by Propel Media, within a year of the company's inception.

What do I do best?

I pride myself on being able to create product visions that are rooted in a deep understanding of technology and business. It is with this skill that I was able to lay the groundwork to launch DeepIntent. I saw a gap in the marketplace for a technology that offers advertisers better insights into their digital marketing campaigns through artificial intelligence.   

What makes me the best version of myself?

Always being persistent and resilient, and thinking creatively in even the most challenging of times. Even in times of failure or personal doubt, it’s important to stay resilient and work through whatever roadblock you may be facing.

What are my aspirations?

A personal goal of mine is to visit every country in the world. I am a huge fan of travel, which I feel provides experiences that teach us so much. Ideally, I would love to learn a couple of new languages along the way as well.

From a business perspective, I aspire to continue leading DeepIntent into a stage of hyper-growth that's driven by delivering an innovative and industry-changing product.

My Biggest Success?

My biggest success thus far has been the successful launch and operation of DeepIntent! My background is in healthcare. I worked as a data scientist developing algorithms to analyze patient records to provide physicians with enhanced analysis capabilities to be better able to predict specific medical outcomes. I was able to take this knowledge and experience and apply it to the marketing and advertising worlds to develop the technology behind DeepIntent. I’m very proud of what we have accomplished so far, and am looking forward to continuing on our fast-paced growth trajectory.

My Most Challenging Moment?

My most challenging moment to date was going through officer candidate school for the US Marine Corps. While it was an extremely difficult task to work through, the lessons I learned and sense of accomplishment I felt when it was over is something I continue to treasure and apply to my everyday life.

My Motto?

Complacency kills, and there is always room for improvement. While it’s important to be comfortable with oneself, it’s even more important to keep challenging yourself to do better in all aspects of life.

My Favorite People/Role Models?

Yann LeCun, Elon Musk and Sheryl Sandberg. They’ve each provided valuable contributions to AI and/or technology as a whole, and inspire me to do the same. More personally, my father and mother also have been strong role models throughout my childhood and well into my adult life. No words can capture the amount of gratitude I have for them imparting a passion for work and life.

My Favorite Places/Destinations?

Of all my travels, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Chilean Patagonia and Thailand.

My iPhone, Google Home, Python and Tableau. These technology tools help me run my business day in and day out.

My Current Passions?

I love traveling and exploring the intersection of healthcare, marketing, and data science. In my time in the healthcare industry, I was fascinated with how artificial intelligence can help to improve patient health. Now in the advertising industry, I am equally as passionate about helping brands use data and artificial intelligence to succeed online and forge stronger connections with their desired audiences.
