I graduated from a 200 hour Intensive Vinyasa Teacher Training in December 2016 from YogaWorks in Back Bay, Boston. Excited to begin, I started teaching at three studios. There was no doubt that I had made the right decision to teach. The location, however, seemed off. In April 2017, I made my way to LA & landed at Yoga Circle shortly after. If I Wasn't Teaching Yoga.... The world would miss out on my most authentic self. It would miss out on my care, warmth, creativity, & bad yoga jokes. It would miss out on compiled hours on the mat dedicated to self study. The world would miss out on the raw, vulnerable space that is created when all that there is on one room is bodies, breath, & beats.
What do I do best?
What I do best is that I inspire people to live as their best selves. I bring out the best in people, commit to their greatness, & support them in their dreams. I do all of this by teaching yoga.
What makes me the best version of myself?
What makes me the best version of myself is resilience. I moved from a small town in MA to the big city of Los Angeles on my own. And anyone who lives here knows the city as a challenging but rewarding environment. My resilience in the lows of career, love life, financial situations, & more keeps me here, grounded in my WHY.
What are my aspirations?
My personal aspirations are to be rooted in love. I aspire to be a role model for self-love, equality, & beauty. I aspire to be a wife to the man of my dreams.
My business aspiration is to be a successful, wise, & humble yoga teacher. I aspire to teach private clients, host events, & lead workshops. I aspire to continue my education in yoga for as long as I live.
My Biggest Success?
My biggest success was the day I connected to the power within me. I was at a ropes course with a leadership training group over in LA. One of the challenges was called The Leap of Faith. It was a wicked tall wooden beam, with a small platform on top, & a bar across from it. As I climbed up the pole & reached the top, the beam was shaking from my fear. I clawed onto the platform on hands and knees, breathing heavily. I had NO idea I would be so shaky! After a minute of coaching, I began to stand up. The beam wobbled & my fear resurfaced. I began to feel my body; my feet grounded. my hip bones lifting, my lower ribs pulling down. My yoga teacher voice came through to me, coaching me to breathe & keep my chin up!
I settled the platform to stillness. I looked at the bar, took that leap of faith, & caught it! I swayed in the glory of overcoming my fears.
Why this is my biggest success to date is because it was the pivotal moment in my life where my authentic, powerful self came out in full force. I relay this experience to my personal life. When I am afraid, I know feel through the fear. I accept that it is there, even when it surprises me. But I come back to who I am. I know now that the bar is a metaphor to my successes in life. If I reach for them out of fear, I will flail & fall. When I jump for them from a place of centeredness, I will be successful.
My Most Challenging Moment?
My most challenging moment had to be the moment I spoke my sobriety into existence, because it made it real. It was the moment I committed to a new way of living, away from the substance that led me to be susceptible to negativity on so many scales. And that meant the old way of living would be forever gone. I had grown comfortable in this way of living, so this new life provided the challenge that I truly needed.
Almost a year later, I can say that this moment had a meaningful impact on my life. My body is healthier, my choices are healthier. I am in relationship with a man that sees me as my best self. I am in a relationship with myself that is full of kindness, devotion, & resilience.
My motto is to lead life with vulnerability, dedication, & honesty.
