Deborah Goldberg is the CEO and Co-Founder of DoggyChef. Prior to DoggyChef, she was the founder of D Productions (Israel), an event planning company. She moved to Paris and joined sharingbox – a startup specializing in photo booth rentals in 19 countries – where she was the manager for private events. Deborah’s interest in food and nutrition grew and after moving to New York, she studied at the Institute of Culinary Education where she earned her degree in culinary management. After this, Deborah realized her true calling was feeding her dog the most nutritious food possible and followed a Certified Pet Nutrition program from the Academy of Natural Health Sciences. A few months later, DoggyChef was born. Deborah also holds a Masters Degree in communication sciences from the European Communication School in Brussels, Belgium and is ServSafe certified.
What do you do best?
What I do best because I enjoy it so much is cooking – I cook a mean Pasta Bolognese for humans… and for dogs.
What makes you the best?
The happiness of my loved ones and my customers is way more important than my own. I always put myself in the place of the person who’s in front of me and put others first. That is probably why we have the best relationship with our customers and always give them more than 100%.
What are your aspirations?
This is going to sound cheesy but my personal desire is to wake up and just be happy. Happy to share my life with the most wonderful and loving husband, who always supports me in every decision I make. Happy to live in a city that inspires me every day and gives me the energy that I need to get through the day. Happy to live from my passion and to love every single minute of my professional life.
Beyond the financial accept of the business, my ultimate goal is to make sure dogs get the healthy, balanced diet they need to grow up strong and happy.
When a famous Instagram dog – who received free food from a direct competitor during several months - decides to switch to a DoggyChef diet and pays for it.
Most Challenging Moment?
The day to day of running a startup… but mostly doubting myself.
“Option A is not available, so let’s kick the sh** out of option B.” Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, wrote it in a tributepost to her husband. This motto can be applied to your personal and business life and I always try to remember that any problem comes with its solution!
Favorite People/Role Models?
My dog Crousty… Just kidding – Any independent woman who dreams big and gives herself the means to get there!
Israel is my favorite place – I lived there for 6 years and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Baby wipes – can’t go anywhere without it
