What do I do best?
I bring out the best in people (in business, athletics or life). I see their potential. This can be both a blessing and a curse because not everyone wants, or cares, about going to the next level, but for those who want to feel like they’re squeezing every last drop out of their potential and maximizing their precious days on this planet, I’m your man.
What makes me the best version of myself?
I was a “late bloomer.” I didn’t get serious about my life until my last year in college. Prior to that, I was content being average. The two most important characteristics (I can’t name just one) are exercise and perseverance. Working out makes you better in everything you do and I’m a person who has learned not to stop until I’ve crossed the finish line (in all areas)
What are my aspirations?
My personal ambition is to be a good person and to help as many people as I can be better today than they were yesterday. That probably sounds cliché and overly-simplistic but it’s the absolute truth.
My business ambition is to create a movement of people who want to “Outperform The Norm.” I want to continually expand our products, programs and tools globally to help people do this. I don’t get too caught up in targets and revenues because I believe if I continue to follow my ambition, these things will take care of themselves.
My Biggest Success?
Professionally: Authoring my first book and becoming a speaker (I was scared to death of doing both)
Personally: Completing a 100-mile ultra marathon run (was scared to death of this as well)
My Most Challenging Moment?
My mother passed away this year from throat cancer. This wasn’t necessarily a personal “decision” but it did have a meaningful impact on me. It taught me to be more patient and empathetic with people, and to realize many people are fighting a battle that we know nothing about. We shouldn’t be so quick to judge others.
“Winning is not normal, and people who constantly win do so by following an abnormal path. The discipline, dedication and sacrifices are incomprehensible to the thousands, standing outside looking in, who are capable of joining, yet unwilling to pay the price of admission.”
- Paul “Bear” Bryant
My Favorite People/Role Models?
My brother, Tim Ferriss, Brendon Burchard, Michael Jordan, Roger Federer. I admire each of these people for very different reasons.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
Colorado for running, biking and hiking. Anywhere on a golf course or lake in Minnesota for chilling out.
My Favorite Products/Objects?
I live a pretty simple life. If I have my computer, phone, Apple watch and a pair of running shoes, I can be happy anywhere. It helps to have good coffee and good beer too.
My Current Passions?
I’m most excited about the time in which we currently live. It has never been easier to spread a message to more people, faster and easier (we just have to make sure it’s the RIGHT message) through our different mediums of communication. We have a great opportunity to positively impact and influence people’s lives.
