What do I do best?
Communicate. It is my natural inclination, area of study and professional expertise. I’m driven to connect with people deeply, by way of listening, observing, responding and interpreting in all realms. I am a community citizen of JOY and the best I have to give is in service to it.
What makes me the best version of myself?
Tenacity and sweat give me the experience of my own strength and the courage to face fears I wouldn’t have believed I could. My identity is as a dancer. I need to sweat, move and physically express myself most days in order to feel awake, healthy and present. I see the best come through me when I’m working with my clients.
What are my aspirations?
I am committing to these personal and business desires in the affirmative, my Native friends. You are my witnesses and co-conspirators.
1. JOYConnector Growth: I am at peace serving hundreds of thousands of people through spiritual development as JOYConnector.
2. Become a NY Times Best-Selling Author: I am a writer by education, and I have a book emerging from my outlines, blogs and journals.
3. Expand my role in Motherhood: The blood of motherhood flows through my veins. I am a mother in the love I have to give, the lands I have to explore, the communities of people I serve and the children I nurture. Raising my own children is a profound blessing I cherish.
My Biggest Success?
My intimate relationships are where I find the most grace and forgiveness. I admire the endurance and faithfulness of love in my family. Receiving that love and waking each day to give more to it is success.
My Most Challenging Moment?
Now! LOL. It’s always the current challenge that seems greatest. Manhattan has been my home like no other for nearly 15 years. Making the decision to leave it liberated me in many ways. I’m excited as each day unfolds in the adventure of finding my next home and yet, I fought this move hardily. To leave the life we know to step into the life that’s waiting for us is a challenge we all face from time to time. We dare to keep the heart open when the instinct is to retreat.
My energy flows to what my heart knows.
When I’m acting from my inner guidance system – call it Love or God - I don’t struggle in my decisions. When I find areas of my life that are stuck, I’m out of touch with that. It’s my work then to bring the two into alignment.
My Favorite People/Role Models?
We are all sinners and saints. I admire the human spirit’s ability to triumph. A few people I keep close as lighthouses in the storms of life:
Marianne Williamson, author, speaker and spiritual teacher (www.marianne.com)
Twyla Tharp, choreographer, author, inspirer (www.twylatharp.org)
Taryn Toomey of the Class with Taryn Toomey (www.taryntoomey.com)
Luis Salgado, artist and founder of R.evolucion Latina (http://revolucionlatina.org/about/staff)
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
Adventure travel is my favorite education. I took a solo guided land and boat tour of the Galapagos Islands with National Geographic in 2013. I had dreamed of this trip and planned it for months. I lost my luggage at the outset of this two-week trip and it taught me how little I require in order to experience the time of my life!
My Favorite Products/Objects?
I recently moved and let go of so much: furniture, objects, STUFF. I always carry facial oil that’s also great for hair and body, an essential oil spray or inhaler and something that feels yummy on my lips like a gloss or a balm. I was certified in Aromatherapy and cosmetic manufacturing in NYC so I could create my own products that were as pure and powerful as I wanted. I use them all day for every little need on my friends, my family, my dog. I launched a small line of essential healing products last year that I call the JOY Collection.
I also have a dream catcher over my bed that was custom made from Aurora Spirits (https://www.ahalife.com/aurora-spirits), and it is so sacred to me. It is my nightly reminder of Love’s protection.
My Current Passions?
Women’s liberation has always been a passion, and it’s only become more imperative on a global scale now. Feminism is good for men, the Economy, in politics, in healthcare, in education, the environment and for ALL of us.
