Teaching since 1983, Kelly Coffey-Meyer has designed and implemented group fitness programs in the largest clubs in Philadelphia and New Jersey. She was the first person to bring AFAA to Philadelphia in 1988 and has earned her programs the 'Best of Philly' awards. Always a competitive athlete, Kelly earned a field hockey scholarship and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at Rider University. Her life-long training for sports and wellness was also utilized to compete in an eye-opening body building competition in the early 1980's. 'After all of the years of training, it took stepping on the stage that day to trigger a deep desire to be an integral part of the fitness world I grew up in.' Long after her colleagues started filming, Kelly jumped into the producing and filming arena to raise awareness of Dementia for her father. With the success of her first DVD, she has since released over 30 DVDs worldwide. 'I never expected to film past the first DVD, the overwhelming response by fitness enthusiasts has carried me all this way. I am grateful that the success of the workouts has allowed me to receive many emails from others who are dealing with the agonizing mental decline of loved ones...I feel blessed to be able to lend them my shoulders and ears!'
What do I do best?
I design workouts for everyBODY. I have been highly successful teaching LIVE classes since 1984 due to an innate understanding of how people move. In my home workout DVDs, I correct form without even seeing the participant because I know what mistakes are commonly made with each move. After watching all different exercisers move in classes for over 35 years, I believe my success is a direct result of being able to design workouts that cater to all body types and of all fitness levels; I am not so hard that they can’t succeed, but I’m not so easy where results are not gained.
What makes me the best version of myself?
As one of eight children, I am a down to earth girl next door type with enough knowledge and energy to take anyone through a workout.
What are my aspirations?
To continue to help people feel great through fitness. I have just launched a fitness channel on vimeo to hopefully reach more people
My Biggest Success?
Being the first individual to successfully Brand herself in the fitness industry. I am the owner and creator of the original 30-Minutes to Fitness series. All other brands are backed by corporations or other financial sources. “30-Minutes to Fitness” is me and me alone.
My Most Challenging Moment?
The most challenging time of my life was the tormenting years of my father’s slow decline from Dementia. It robbed him of everything he stood for; he could no longer be productive, he lost the ability to communicate and he couldn’t move past the illness. That feeling hopelessness and helplessness is not something that I wanted to accept so I started putting my workouts on DVD to raise the public awareness of Dementia in my father’s name.
Fitness is good for you physically, mentally and emotionally! We aren’t guaranteed a healthy tomorrow so make today count…Carpe Diem!
My Favorite People/Role Models?
My parents were my greatest role models. They taught their eight children to work hard, be kind and keep moving forward no matter what obstacles get in your way! As far as role models in the fitness industry: Rachel Mcclish, Jack Lalane, Mohammad Ali, Sly Stallone, and Arnold Swartzenegger to name a few

Fitness: Weighted lifting/boxing gloves, treadmill, dumbbells. Personal: Maybelline mascara, blue jeans, and sneakers (not to be worn with jeans).
