Carrie Berk: Bestselling author, fashion & lifestyle blogger, Social media influencer, & Anti-bullying activist

My NativeAdVert:

Driven by a love of writing and a taste for sweet treats, CARRIE created her first book series, The Cupcake Club, when she was only in second grade. Co-written with her mom, NY Times Bestselling author Sheryl Berk, the series has published 12 books to date, sold 400,000+ copies worldwide, and has gone on to become an award-winning Off-Broadway show and featured selection in 2017’s New York Musical Festival. CARRIE not only co-wrote the script for the play, but starred in it as well, earning her critical praise and a NYMF award for Outstanding Individual Performance.
CARRIE's second series, Fashion Academy, stems from her passion for fashion. The six-book series also became an Off-Broadway production at Vital Theatre and is currently licensed worldwide by Tams-Witmark Publishing.

Her latest series, Ask Emma(Bonnier Publishing), springs not just from her boundless imagination, but from her personal experience as a teen lifestyle blogger and someone who has experienced cyberbullying firsthand. Ask Emma launched this past May at Book Expo America and Book Con with book two of the series, set to hit shelves January 2019. In addition to publishing 21 books to date, CARRIE launched "Carrie's Chronicles" in December 2017. The weekly "Style Empowerment" blog is her take on all things “fun, fab and fashionable” in NYC and features “Carrie’s Q & A” with several celebrities and beauty/fashion movers and shakers. CARRIE is also an influencer in her own right, showcasing her personal style with the city as her canvas and working with top fashion, beauty & lifestyle brands, including FOREO, REVOLVE, Alice + Olivia, Madewell, and Daniel Wellington.

CARRIE was recently profiled in Teen Boss! Magazine for being a real kid "networking her way to success"
and her personal essays and fashion features have appeared in NY Metro Parents MagazineThe East Hampton Independent Newspaper and Girls' Life. She was also an Instagram Live correspondent for Girls’ Life, covering red carpet arrivals and celeb interviews at the Teen Choice Awards.

When CARRIE isn’t writing, she can be found singing, dancing or modeling, with numerous theater credits to her name. CARRIE also proudly serves as a teen ambassador for No Bully and has made it her mission to encourage tweens and teens to practice empathy and respect among their peers, both in everyday life and on social media.

My Goal of the Day: Be thankful.

My Thought of the Day: Always lead with positivity, no matter what obstacles may surface.

My Action of the Day: Box out all my stress at boxing class!

My Deed of the Day: Do a random act of kindness.

My Tip of the Day: Your style is your superpower. Own who you are—there’s nothing more beautiful than that.

My Pic of the Day:

A Day in My Life:

What do you love most about Your City?

The city is my canvas that I paint with my bold sense of style. There is an endless array of opportunities and things to explore in New York, which is why I truly believe I will live here all my life (but travel a lot, of course).

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

Poached eggs with smoked salmon. For brunch, Hotel Chantelle in Lower Manhattan is forever my favorite.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Sleeping!

10:00 AM – On weekdays, I’m at school. On weekends, I’m either taking pics at a pop-up shop in the city or at dance class.

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Pietro Nolita. It’s an all-pink restaurant that has the most delicious fish specials I have ever tasted—their branzino never gets old.

7:00 PM - Writing my next blog post on my rose gold MacBook laptop.

11:00 PM – Finishing up a TV show and getting ready to go to bed. I need to head to sleep early in order to feel refreshed for the next day.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Water! I try to aim for 64 oz each day, which is a lofty goal.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Instagram, by far! I love following inspiring publications such as @seventeen and @teenvogue.

What should everyone try at least once?

A dance class—it can change your whole perspective on life (see more detail below).

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I love going to dance class because it’s easy to get lost in the music and movement. All outside worries temporarily dissipate and I’m able to express myself freely and without judgment.
