Mara Cimatoribus is 27 years old, she grew up in northern Italy, she moved out from her parents when she was 18 to move to Venice, where she studied Art History. As soon as she finished University she knew she wanted to move abroad and experience new things and finally learn english properly! Four years ago she moved to London where she still lives with her boyfriend, two noisy cats and a newly arrived puppy. After trying different jobs and struggling to find her way, she found yoga a couple of years ago. She fell in love with it straight away and it improved her life drastically, helping her to go through tough times. Last year she decided she wanted to share the powerful art of yoga with everyone so she went to India and became a certified yoga teacher. Now her dream is to teach and to show how to turn your life for the better using yoga.
What do I do best?
I’m going to go with, making tiramisu! :) no one can beat me at that!
Ok no seriously, this question isn’t easy. It’s hard for me to answer it, not to denigrate myself, but just because I think I’m always learning, in any field. I think I’m fairly good in few things but I can’t really consider myself THE best.
What makes me the best version of myself?
My positivity and my smile. Even in darker moments I never lose my smile, and I believe that helps big time.
Also my honesty, towards myself and others. For me this is one of the most important quality and value to have.
What are my aspirations?
I’m working towards creating a life where I’m able to live somewhere warm, maybe on the beach, for big part of the year and balance it with a few months back in London. Doing a job that doesn’t feel like work that I can bring with me wherever I go. I want to be able to host yoga classes, retreats and workshops around the world. And at the end of the day come home to my love and my fur babies :)
This will influence both business and personal side obviously, but more on the latter I just aspire to keep loving myself, to have less insecurities and care less of what people think!
My Biggest Success?
To have had the courage to move in another country, without money and without really knowing the language. And to have gone to India and became a yoga teacher. Basically whenever I step out of my comfort zone big time, that’s when I feel most successful!
My Most Challenging Moment?
Two years after moving I had my first anxiety attack and went through a tough time where I felt lost. I stop knowing myself as I did and that put me in a lot of confusion. It wasn’t until I accepted that I changed and that didn’t mean that I was less true to myself.
‘Each thought we have creates an energy flow within and around our physical being. This energy attracts its likeness. So if you’re thinking, “I suck,” then your energy kinda, well, sucks, and you attract sucky experiences.
The opposite experience occurs when you think high-level thoughts like, “I rock!” When you think and feel, “I rock,” you exude an energy of confidence and in turn attract great experiences into your life. Each thought you have informs your energy, and your energy manifests into your experiences. Your thoughts and energy create your reality.’
If there’s something I believe strongly in is the power of energy, so this excerpt just sums it up perfectly!
My Favorite People/Role Models?
My favorite people ever, who I look up to and admire and respect are no doubt Simon, my partner, and my parents.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
Anywhere warm with a beach really! If I had to choose at the top of the list it would be Xpu-Ha (Mexico) and Bali.
My Favorite Products/Objects?
My yoga mat, my blender, my bed, a journal and yes, my phone!
My Current Passions?
Always yoga! Working on my practice and creating classes just brings me lots of joy!
Also I just got a dog and playing with her is one of my favorite things at the moment! :)
