What do I do best?
As a yoga teacher, I offer authenticity and a safe space where people can let go and heal. Assisting in the healing and evolutionary process is what I do best - through Yoga and Reiki.
What makes me the best version of myself?
Commitment to my personal yoga practices - practicing asanas (yoga poses) daily, self-Reiki, chanting and meditating. Getting enough sleep and eating healthy. Through Svadhyaya - which means “self study” in Sanskrit - observing my daily thoughts, behaviors and patterns with the intentions of growth and evolving myself. By staying true to my heart…following the voice inside.
What are my aspirations?
My personal goals are to become the healthiest and happiest version of myself and to balance my professional life with with personal life and play. Professionally, I want to make my Yoga and Reiki teachings more available online. I have mentored yoga students in studios and teacher trainings for over a decade..I love this and I also feel that online outreach is the next addition to spreading the love…offering yoga teachings and tips, inspirations on living the yoga lifestyle, meditations, yoga sequencing, chanting tutorials, and more. I also want to sing much, much more :)
My Biggest Success?
I think my biggest success to date is the facilitation of thousands of yogis in becoming empowered yoga teachers. These yogis are now off in the world spreading the teachings. The ripple effects are super exciting for me. Some of them are now teaching yoga in their hometowns and cities, some are traveling internationally leading workshops, some have created their own yoga schools and some have become renowned public yoga figures. Some have become Reiki Masters and are teaching hands-on-healing. I am just always excited to see where the path takes them and all of us, year after year.
My Most Challenging Moment?
When I was a young girl, I was standing in my bedroom and I remember hearing a voice inside me say, “one day you will leave it all behind, but do not worry, you will end up helping many people.” I didn’t understand what that meant at that time, but the experience had a powerful effect on me. When I was 25, that day came. I had done everything society had told me to do to be happy - I graduated from university, was working in the corporate world, bought a house…I did all I was “supposed to,” but I was not completely happy. Something was missing. That something was me! When I found yoga, I found myself, and discovered what made me truly happy. I became a yoga teacher and started helping others find their true happiness, while I continued to explore mine. Letting go of one lifestyle and committing to this yoga lifestyle was a brave choice - not a whole lot of young people where doing it at the time - and there were very few role models. But luckily, I had and still have today, a very supportive yoga community that was there to catch me when I leapt!
Take great care of yourself - your body, mind and heart and this will inspire others to take great care of themselves. When we take great care of ourselves, everyone benefits.
My Favorite People/Role Models?
Some of my favorite people are the yogis that I have live with in community, my family and my teachers. Spiritual teachers of the past - those that taught the path of Love - like Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj, Anandamayi Ma, and Neem Karoli Baba. Present day role models include Jai Uttal - a yogi musician who inspires authenticity and Divine connection, Denise Kauffman of L.A./Kaui - also a yogi musician - she is a wise and caring voice for yoga, community, women empowerment and Oneness. I am inspired by so, so many…
