My NativeAdVantage:

Ashley Whitman is Founder and CEO of Romp & Roost. Ashley Whitman holds a patent for the division of all play yards with her Romp & Roost product. Whitman resides in St. Augustine, Florida with her husband Kyle and daughters Capra and Ivy. She graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of North Florida. She created Romp & Roost when she was searching for a large playpen with flooring on the internet to purchase for her daughter.  As her daughter would tumble and fall on our floors learning her new skills, she would hurt herself immediately and began to cry even with blankets down to break the fall. Ashley wanted something large enough for her daughter to play in that also had a soft bottom for her stumbles and falls.

What do I do best?

I am incredibly dependable and always do what I say I am going to do. I strive to do it in a timely manner and strongly believe that respecting the time of others is essential.

What makes me the best version of myself?

Perseverance has gotten me where I am today.  There are many challenges I have faced both personally and business related, but I have not let those challenges defeat me. They have only served to inspire me to keep pushing through.

What are my aspirations?

My parents always taught me that my job as a parent was to raise good adults so that is my main focus in life.  I want to raise confident, loving girls and show them that true beauty comes from within and in the way you treat others.

My business goal is to take CappyBug,LLC and Romp & Roost to the next level by changing the playpen game and making the lives of parents easier!  What makes R & R different from most playpens is the size, removable patented divider, and travel bag with wheels.  Stay tuned for this LUXE model coming out late summer 2018.

My Biggest Success?

My greatest accomplishment to date is my family.  My husband Kyle, and my two daughters, Capra (8) and Ivy (6), are the reasons I try to stay healthy in mind, body, and spirit to be the best version of myself. I feel successful when I demonstrate to  them that working hard and being kind to others are the most important traits in life.

My Most Challenging Moment?

My decision to keep pursuing the Romp & Roost Play Yard project despite losing my mom to ovarian cancer in 2012 and having two small babies had the most impact on my life.  There were some dark times where it would have been easier to give up, but I know my mom would be so proud that I made the decision to keep at it despite my grief and stress.

My Motto?

Each morning, I ask God to empower me to be the best mom and wife that I can be. I pray that my children are strong and healthy and that they see me as a positive role model in their lives.

My Favorite People/Role Models?

My parents are my role models both in business and my personal life.  My mom was one of the most caring and compassionate women you will ever meet. She showed me the aspects of being a truly beautiful person inside and out.  She was a wonderful mom, wife, and friend.  In addition, I have worked side by side with my dad for over 15 years. I can tell you that not only does he run his business tirelessly with dedication and determination, he has shown me that having a moral and ethical compass is the only way to go.  In addition, my mom and dad were married for almost 40 years when my mom passed away. Their marriage and the respect and love they showed each other daily left me wanting to have the same qualities in my marriage.

My Favorite Places/Destinations?

Our family enjoys going just about anywhere (especially horse shows) in our camper.  Our extended family enjoys trips to the Keys and the Bahamas, and although we have only been once, my husband I love the Dominican Republic for a getaway for the two of us!

My Favorite Products/Objects?

I don’t put too much thought into “things” as “things” come and go.  I prefer to focus on relationships with friends and families.

My Current Passions?

In my spare time, I enjoy riding horses both for recreation and competitive show jumping.  Riding relaxes me. My daughters have recently started riding, and I love watching them enjoy the animals and learning the skills that go along with the sport, especially taking care of the animals..
