What do I do best?
I do well on staying level headed and positive on a daily basis. I watch so many (people) let things get to them and watch how it can completely derail their day, or worse, really affect their well-being. I don’t sweat what I can’t control! With this, I sleep amazing every night and wake up every morning looking forward the day. I call it my Eternal Optimism outlook.
What makes me the best version of myself?
I’ve worked hard in my lifetime to surround myself with positivity and maintain those surroundings. Whether it be people or my job, I’ve made strategic decisions to make sure I wouldn’t be unhappy where I was. It hasn’t always been an easy decision, but I truly believe it’s something that more people should do, more often.
What are my aspirations?
I aspire to achieve the most success I can in my field, as long as it aligns with my own personal values. In the fitness world, it simply means I want to help as many people find their own fitness path; their real fitness for their real life. Throughout my career, the methods and communication channels have evolved, and I love the continued challenges. Personally, I want to make sure that I am providing for my family and setting us up a solid foundation for the future.
My Biggest Success?
I think my greatest accomplishment has been the ability to adapt and keep going! Like most (people), I’ve had all sorts of twists and turns in my life that definitely could have led to some extreme depression and feeling of failure. But I have learned how to stay stubborn with what I want to accomplish, but flexible in the methods. Eternally optimistic, remember?
My Most Challenging Moment?
In my late 20’s I was presented with an opportunity to move back to Los Angeles. It was a big decision to leave the life that I had built in Washington State for almost a decade, and it meant leaving everything behind to move to a place where it’s not always easy to get by. I took the challenge on and if it didn’t fit in my car, I got rid of it and drove down to L.A. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work out but was ready to take it head on! It turned out to be a pinnacle for my life, both professionally and personally.
My main thing is to continually stay optimistic and adapting as you go. Stay headstrong with what you want, but flexible in how you get there.
My Favorite People/Role Models?
I follow and respect anyone who is an honest and willing contributor to society. There are WAY too many people nowadays that simply want to dish their opinion or gripe about things versus doing what it takes to actually contribute. To me, that’s the easy way out.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
My wife and I love anything that has sand and sun! Our personal faves include Maui and Cancun (where we were married). We haven’t had a chance to get over to Europe and explore, but it’s definitely on our “to-do” list!
My Favorite Products/Objects?
Having been in the health and fitness world as long as I have, I live by the products that keep me clean and smelling fresh. I have a total phobia of smelling bad (we’ve all smelt that person at the gym) and have to make sure I’m always smelling good. To that end, in my bag I carry around every day I have multiple deodorants, colognes, Dude Wipes (including shower wipes) and a toothbrush…and a little travel hair dryer. :)
My Current Passions?
I’m currently LOVING what I do! As a Beachbody Trainer, I get to work and communicate with amazing people every day who are just as passionate as I am about helping others enrich their lives. It’s an incredible feeling to wake up every day and honestly feel good about what you have on tap for the day.
To which I say to everyone, if you’re not happy with anything about your life, change it!
