What do I do best?
I am really good at turning contentious relationships with strangers into meaningful friendships.
What makes me the best version of myself?
I’m obsessive. It’s not healthy, it just is.
What are my aspirations?
Gently push the film industry into the 21st century with cast and crew that reflect our world. I want Women In Media to evolve with the film industry as parity and inclusion become a habit. I’d also like more public speaking opportunities.
My Biggest Success?
Spending a year educating people on line until #ShirleyChisholm #UnboughtUnbossed trended on her birthday. I was pretty upset a few years ago when there were only a handful of tweets about her and very little on her birthday. Meanwhile, men who had accomplished far less than she were trending daily. It felt wrong, as she is a giant of American History. So, a few days a week, I would send out a post about her. Soon many others posted about her. Then I started giving heads up tweets that her birthday was coming up. When I woke up on Nov. 30, I was thrilled to see my Shero trending! It takes a Twitterverse.
My Most Challenging Moment?
I was about to move to New Zealand in late 2017, but ended up staying after Harvey Weinstein and #MeToo pushed the conversation on gender equality in the US. Dang. I could be in beautiful New Zealand with universal health care, good friends, and great education. Still not sure it was a great decision for me personally, but here I am, hoping I’m making a difference and it was worth the sacrifice.
Do unto others and party on.
My Favorite People/Role Models?
I think Malala is a bad ass. The Taliban couldn’t take her down. We should all be a little more like her.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
I love Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona. All have great architecture, films, food, and art - my favorite things.
My Favorite Products/Objects?
I can’t live without my steam cleaner. Seriously. Steam clean your couches and rugs every month and you’ll be shocked at what comes up.
My Current Passions?
I’m writing a post apocalyptic cross platform story. I call it a story, because it’s meant to be experienced online, in real life, and in a series. I’d tell you more but….. you’ll need to read the treatment. Serious solicitations only.
