Tim van der Vliet: Teacher, meditator & Hay House author

My NativeAdVantage:

Tim van der Vliet is a teacher, meditator, Hay House author and father of 4 children. Apart from a healthy yoga lifestyle he has learned how breathing properly helps him feel calmer, be healthier and cope with stress better. And even that he can influence his auto immune system and alkalize his blood through breathing and cold training. Tim has been trained personally by the world famous Wim Hof (aka 'The Iceman') whose techniques for mastering the mind-body connection are being studied by scientific institutions around the world.

What do I do best?

Always an interesting question. I honestly had to think/feel for a while before answering because there are different levels of truth. One hand I would want to say making the perfect chai latte with a shot of espresso, cooking eggs (really I am the best) or making children (got 4 now and they are all wise, sometimes difficult, global citizens). But then, a few thoughts later, I came to the following: “ I am best in making and seeing connections where others wouldn’t. I have a well developed analytical mind but my greatest treasure is my intuition and to be able to see solutions and answers to challenges that other people wouldn’t.

What makes me the best version of myself?

I function best when I live according to my own rules or structure. I have a simple method and daily ritual to staying healthy, clean and vibrating on a high energy. The simplest version is: waking up and drinking a glass of water with baking soda, then 21 times the 5 Tibetan Rites, and then 15 minutes of Wim Hof breathing. Because of this daily ritual I can be highly energetic and focused even if I sleep 2 hours. Absolute magic if you find a way to vibrate on a high energetic level.

What are my aspirations?

My personal aspiration is very simple: I want to enlighten the world. This means that on average more decisions are made from love in stead of fear. Clearly this goes for my own personal system as well.

My business aspiration is two fold. On one hand I am a teacher that helps people get further themselves. A teacher that teaches you to take authority into your own hands and giving you tools so you can do it yourself. On the other hand I am working on a project to enlighten the world from within the financial world. My career has been a trader in the financial world before. Lately I have been asked to work in the financial world again. I took the side job. My dream is to change the world positively through investing. Imagine that money flows to companies that have a positive impact on the world. Changing the world, through investing, is how two worlds (earthly and spiritual) come together in a beautiful dance.

My Biggest Success?

Another good question. I guess my biggest success is to live an intuitive and spiritual live while having a family of 4 kids, walking around in the Dutch version of the financial City and being a teacher who has to show up 4 to 5 times a week to teach. My biggest success is to be able to connect to earthly live to the spirits.

My Most Challenging Moment?

Sometimes I feel extremely impatience with how slow the world is changing. I told a friend last week that I feel like I am sent back from the future in a lower vibration earth and feel like I am not at home. In my reality the world is already without wars, taking care of every human being, free energy, food, shelter and education for everybody. Then I open my eyes and I see that somebody is ringing the bell on their bicycle impatiently because I am blocking their path, here in Amsterdam. I guess the biggest challenge now is my own impatience :).

My Motto?

Whatever you think, the opposite is as true. Our mind is a beautiful organ that makes us crazy one in a while. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it. By knowing that I don’t know so much, and knowing whatever I think, the opposite may be as true ss well, I get to slow my mind down, and get my heart thinking, intuition or my spiritual being to the surface. I call this way of thinking: the Power of Paradox. This may be the title of a new book somewhere in the future.

My Favorite People/Role Models?

Personal: There is nobody I would like to change lives with. I know this sounds arrogant but I really mean this. My role model is myself vibrating in the highest energy possible. In the earthly live I am living I am vibrating high but I always have the feeling that I can vibrate even higher. I remember how I felt after a 10 day Vipassana meditation retreat; pure ecstasy. That is my highest vibration so far!

Business: Elon Musk, a scientist with a higher goal for the world. Elon also knows that he knows nothing. Maybe that makes him the most intelligent person walking around the globe at this moment.

My Favorite Places/Destinations?

Kyoto, Japan. I have been there about 20 times. My wife, the mother of my kids, is Japanese and we travel to visit the family a lot. I can speak a bit of Japanese, I know my way around (also all the little streets and the best places where you can eat good and not too expensive). You would want me to show you around in Japan. I am probably the best tourist host ever. Something I can always fall back to if I would need it ;).

My Favorite Products/Objects?

My hear cream. Yeah I know, that is very feminine. But if you would see my hair if I don’t put my favourite cream in it… Like an exploded birds nest. The cream I use contains Keratine. Maybe that’s way I still have all my hair reaching the age of 50.

My Current Passions?

I love to help people on their personal development path. I am grateful for every person who allows me to teach him or her something.

I love my kids, my wife and my friends.I love Amsterdam, and the rest of the world.

I love numbers. Put me behind a screen with some Math’s and my heart rate will drop, I go into a meditation, and forget time because I am truly in a flow. I am a true nerd. And proud of it :).
