What do I do best?
Connect with people and create communities - I’ve always enjoyed getting to know people and making them feel welcome and comfortable. I love getting to learn what people are passionate about and what makes them tick, and encouraging them to pursue those things. This goes for my dearest friends and to peers and co-workers.
What makes me the best version of myself?
Trusting my self and leading from a place of love and compassion. People know authenticity and respect it. When I’ve listened to myself and turned off the “what ifs” and worries about what others are doing or thinking, I’ve been able to step into a place of truth and leadership. Being true to oneself and leading with the heart - that’s what makes me feel great and what makes others want to be a part of what I’m up to.
What are my aspirations?
Personal goals - Live a well balanced life that’s integrated with my practice. Travel! Continue to see the world. Become a mom. Build a house somewhere scenic surrounded by forest! Write a book.
Business - My goal is to consider to share yoga teachings with people, create transformation, and help people access true happiness and live their best lives. The yoga studio is a great avenue for sharing those things. I’d love to see it continue to grow and reach more people. Continue to lead retreats in beautiful places around the world!
My Biggest Success?
Opening my yoga studio and watching it grow into a thriving community gives me more joy than anything. Every day when I walk through the doors and look around, I feel grateful for the people that it has brought into my life. I didn’t plan for success - I just did this thing that I was feeling driven to do. I had no idea it would be successful, or be such a safe and favorite place for so many people.
My Most Challenging Moment?
Deciding to leave my 9-5, on paper dream job, was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. it felt like taking a huge scary leap off a cliff into the unknown, and yet I knew that I had to do it. I was sick over it for weeks before deciding to do it. I have learned over and over that intuition is a great guide, but it can be scary to follow intuition without that guarantee of where it will lead! Once I made the leap, I never looked back.
Live your Truth, Trust your gut, and Follow Your Bliss
My Favorite People/Role Models?
My Mom. She is a loving, kind, generous person who sees the best in everyone. She is a positive loving force and has always encouraged me to follow my dreams. She would do anything for anyone.
Betty - The woman who encouraged me to become a yoga teacher. She has been a great mentor and friend to me, and has continued to help me along my teaching path. She is a straight shooter, compassionate, and immensely loving, patient, and talented.
My husband! He has my back no matter what. He turns any moment into an adventure.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
Scotland - I love the rich green of the countryside, the rawness of the oceans, and the energy there!
Jerusalem - the old city is such a powerful place - so many people pouring energy and prayer into one city - you can feel it when you walk there - how much intention and energy has been poured into it by people from all backgrounds.
My Favorite Products/Objects?
My mala beads - made for me by my teacher, they are a reminder to practice and a meditation tool. I wear them everywhere and practice with them daily - they remind me of the intention behind what I do and to be the best version of myself.
My LL Bean Boots. I wear them on all of my adventures - walking through low tide at the beach with my dogs, hiking in mud season, exploring the coast - love knowing my feet are cozy and dry and that I’m prepared for whatever terrain I encounter.
Earl Gray Tea - No better way than to take a moment to cozy up than with a cup of tea and a book in my sun room.
My Current Passions?
Exploring the beach and the fields of Maine with my two dogs. Collecting unique shells and hunting for sand dollars along the coasts. Learning to play new instruments (currently Banjo and Harmonium) and learn languages! (working on Hebrew right now.)
