Paige Earl teaches yoga as a means to help other people. The magic of watching a student’s practice transform from one week to another is what keeps her fueled. She finds joy in offering resources to help people with their struggles of everyday life, on and off the mat. Paige's approach to yoga is playful and knowledgeable, while keeping the focus on her student's individual needs. Her goal is to break down seemingly hard asanas to make them accessible to people of varying levels and she promises one thing; fun and challenging classes that will make her students sweat. In 2005, Yoga found Paige in a Beginner's Yoga class for two hours every Friday morning. Unexpected changes in her body and health started occurring - she had more energy, felt healthier and happier in her body than ever before, and started seeing life in a different light. After that first year of initial practicing and healing, she knew she wanted to share yoga and its benefits with as many people as possible. Years later, Paige had the privilege of enrolling in a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training program with Tiffany Cruikshank at Yoga Pearl, and received her teaching certificate in 2011. More recently she completed her 500-hour Yoga Medicine certification covering the following subjects: Shoulder, Hip, Spine, Chinese Medicine & Myofascial Release, Sequencing, Cadaver Lab.
What do I do best?
One of my strengths is the ability to find joy in any circumstance. We’re all here on our individual journey’s, but if we’re not enjoying the journey, what is the purpose? Our lives are these incredible gifts, we can go through them focusing on all that we don’t have or we can find joy in all that we do. Every time I’m leading a class or taking one as a student, I’m filled with joy and gratitude.
What makes me the best version of myself?
My resilience is without a doubt the reason I am here today. Whenever I set my mind to something, nothing can stop me—for better or worse. Putting in the work to attain our goals is often overlooked, but as someone that has always had to work hard for everything, I enjoy the process and have come to embrace it whether I am striving to expand my teaching offering or continue my education. Dreams don’t work unless we do.
What are my aspirations?
I aspire to be a good human that instills community and connection for people to be their best selves. I want to be the person my friends, family, and colleagues can rely upon when they need anything.
I also have a dream of owning and operating a retreat center. Being able to blend my years working in sales operations with my passion for bringing people together building community is the ultimate goal. I know it will happen, it’s just a matter of timing and choosing the right location!
My Biggest Success?
Finding balance between a full-time career and my passion for teaching yoga. Most days I pinch myself because I get to do both! I don’t have to choose between a career and what really makes me excited. I’ve never had to teach yoga out of necessity, I get to teach yoga because I want to. Because of this, my journey has never been influenced by need but rather desire.
My Most Challenging Moment?
Overcoming the need for perfection. I consistently have to remind myself that perfect is an object of our imagination. Simply getting things done and living through the experience is just right.
As Brene Brown says, “Perfectionism is the ultimate fear... People who are walking around as perfectionists... They are ultimately afraid that the world is going to see them for who they really are and they won’t measure up.”
My work personal work is about allowing myself to be seen and trusting that the right people will love and accept me as I am and for what I have to offer.
We must push beyond our comfort zones to accomplish great things.
It’s certainly easy to stay in our protective bubbles, doing the things we think we’re good at, floating through life. But if we really want to accomplish our goals and dreams, it takes work; which most often means we have to push ourselves outside that protective bubble, to be vulnerable, to take risks, to reach others. Not once have I ever regretted expanding my comfort zone, ultimately leading to personal growth.
My Favorite People/Role Models?
I immediately think of my (yoga) teacher, Tiffany Cruikshank. Her approach in blending both eastern and western ideologies into the yoga practice and application make it accessible for any teacher to learn what they may need to facilitate strong, knowledge based classes. Tiffany is always pushing herself to learn and stay at the forefront of changes in medicine and physiology so that she may continue to share these with her many dedicated students.
My Favorite Places/Destinations?
Spain will always be my favorite destination. The vibrancy and love that comes from its people is tangible. Being apart of a culture that is so accepting is freeing. If I need a pick-me-up without traveling too far, a warm beach and a good book will always do the trick. As an introvert, taking alone time to recharge is essential for my wellbeing.
My Favorite Products/Objects?
I use a weekly planner Desire Map by Danielle Laporte to keep everything organized and on track. At the beginning of each week, there are prompts to help set your intention, one of these is, ‘What I will do to feel the way I want to feel.’
Taking ownership of how I want to feel and being intentional about my words, actions, activities is so empowering that using this planner has helped me to lead a more fulfilling life. I no longer feel as if I’m reacting to life but rather I’m living it on my terms.
My Current Passions?
Movement is a huge passion of mine. Physically, I have a lot of energy to burn through in any given day. It’s really hard for me to remain stagnant. The type of movement doesn’t always matter, however building strength and pressing endurance always makes me feel on top of the world. Through my physical strength, I feel unstoppable.
