My Thought of the Day:  Actions you take today determine your tomorrow.

My Action of the Day: Make sure I reflect on what I am blessed to have and be thankful for it big or small. Ensure I deliver on all aspects of my goals and call the call center.

My Deed of the Day: Make sure I talk to at least 1 sales person and 2 customer service center employees.

My Tip of the Day: The best way to find out if your company is doing well is to talk to the people who interact with your customers daily. The call center. They are the heartbeat of your organization. The ones who know firsthand if you are doing well or not.

A Day in My Life:

What do you love most about Your City?

I live in so may places due to the nature of my job. I am always bouncing between London, Nigeria, and California. But when it comes to where I call home that has to be Lagos, Nigeria. Where I was born and raised. I love everything about Lagos. The hustle and drive people have, the energy and drive towards entrepreneurship, and the hoops and hurdles you have to go through every day to get things done. Nigeria is a place where everyday a new challenge presents itself and you simply have to figure out a way. Such scenarios keep you on your toes and make you a better wiser person.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?  Favorite breakfast meal is French Toast with honey and some eggs.  Favorite restaurant of all times has to be RockSugar in Los Angeles.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Today I am in a meeting with my executive staff at 6AM going over projections and marketing budgets and plans for next month.

10:00 AM – I am reviewing an MOU with my staff for a partnership we have been working on for several months now. Hoping we can conclude on all the parameters so we can execute and get this going.  The goal is to conclude the MOU process and submit to the partner right after the meeting.

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

For a quick bite to eat in California I love In-N-Out burgers.

7:00 PM -  By this time I am having dinner with my family spending some quality time. I do my best when in California to always ensure I am at the dinner table with my family.

11:00 PM – Believe it or not I am getting ready for my next day. Preparing my calendar, understanding what is expected and due the next day. Reading whatever material I need to so I can sleep on it and take the time to develop a well thought out approach. Sleeping on ideas is really the best. I have found this to always yield a more rational decision. By midnight I am getting ready for bed. But always depends on what I have planned the next day.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

I really enjoy a cup of hot chocolate in the morning and drink water for the rest of the day (6-8 bottles).

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Most used app is mine, The Mall for Africa App. And most used Instagram account is my new online site I created with DHL, Marketplace Africa. The platform enables African artisans to sell their one-of-a-kind handmade products to the US and global market. I am obsessed with my companies, our products, and our social media accounts.

What should everyone try at least once?

Everyone should try to visit a and help the less fortunate at least once to understand how blessed they are now.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I enjoy getting lost when I travel. Those are the times you find new things and experience new situations that mold you to not be fearful, and say to yourself “You got this.”

Ayana Lage: Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger

My NativeAdVert:

Ayana Lage is a fashion and lifestyle blogger based in Tampa, Florida with a background in digital media and content marketing. She’s worked for Bustle, the Tampa Bay Times, the Miami Herald, and numerous freelance clients. As a blogger, she’s worked with 40+ lifestyle brands. When she’s not blogging, she’s focused on her day job in digital marketing, watching Queer Eye, or laughing aloud at tweets from @dril.

My Goal of the Day: To get as much done as I can without overdoing it.

My Thought of the Day: There’s enough grace to finish everything that needs to be done today.

My Action of the Day: Making neat pictures.

My Deed of the Day: Spending time with family — there’s more to life than Instagram.

My Tip of the Day: If you don’t feel like being creative, that’s okay. Taking breaks is normal, especially when it isn’t your primary source of income.

My Pic of the Day:

A Day in My Life:

What do you love most about Your City? Its small-town feel. Tampa is huge, but you end up feeling like you know everyone. I also love the people and quirky culture.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

The Lutz Bubba at Brunchie’s in Tampa. It’s terribly unhealthy but the best Southern breakfast in town.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Sleeping. I’m a night owl — I’d much rather be up at 1 a.m. than up at 6 a.m.

10:00 AM - Let’s assume it’s a weekend. I’m likely on the couch watching Premier League football with my husband, brainstorming photo spots for the day. Checking my work email to make sure nothing urgent is happening at my day job. (I’m a digital marketing specialist.)

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

Easy. The Sexy Geisha roll from Kelp Sushi or the Curry Chicken Salad sandwich from Oxford Exchange.

7:00 PM -  An intimate dinner with my husband — and we try to keep our phones away.

11:00 PM - Editing photos and writing blog posts.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)? Diet Coke, for sure. Or a blonde cappuccino. The more caffeine, the better.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Headspace, 8mm, 1SE. The first is for meditation; the latter two are fun ways to capture what’s happening around me. My favorite influencer is — by far — Tessa Barton, or @tezza.

What should everyone try at least once?

Therapy. I’m not kidding — if everyone committed to one therapy session in their lifetime, we’d all be kinder.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

I’m not an outdoorsy person, so I’ve gotta say a thrift store. Seriously, sifting through piles of clothing for hours is calming for me. I think it teaches me patience.

Kresse Wesling MBE: Co-Founder, Elvis & Kresse

My NativeAdVert:

Kresse Wesling is Co-Founder of Elvis & Kresse. Since 2005 Elvis & Kresse have been rescuing raw materials, transforming them into luxury lifestyle accessories and donating 50% of profits back to charities. In 2005 we had a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. When we learned that London's damaged decommissioned hoses were headed to landfill we mounted a rescue. We set up Elvis & Kresse to save it. For over a decade none of London’s fire-hose has gone to landfill and over 170 tons of material has been reclaimed. In 2017 the Burberry Foundation partnered with Elvis & Kresse to tackle the even greater global problem of leather waste. This Five-year partnership will see at least 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts from Burberry recrafted into new luxury items, designed and sold by Elvis & Kresse.

My Goal of the Day: To complete the tasks I have set for myself.

My Thought of the Day: I definitely have too many different thoughts within a day to pick just one!

My Action of the Day: To keep moving - physically and mentally.

My Deed of the Day: Elvis & Kresse was established to solve raw material problems, every day that the business survives, that is what we are doing.

My Tip of the Day: Do More, Be Better

My Pic of the Day:

A Day in My Life:

What do you love most about Your City?

We don’t live in a city and there is so much to love about that - the real darkness, the quiet, the fresh air, the wildlife, the water that makes up 180 degrees of our view, the places to run and walk with our dog…

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

Some kind of oatmeal or muesli at my desk.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Sleeping or running or cross training.

10:00 AM - Working - either in the workshop or out at meetings

12:00 PM - Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

My favourite spot is just outside our workshop on a sunny summer day, looking over the mill pond at the ducks. Lunch is almost always a cheese sandwich or leftovers.

7:00 PM -  Just getting back from a long walk with Elvis & Monty (our dog).

11:00 PM - Heading to bed.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Water. I like other drinks of course, but water is all I need.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

WhatsApp - it is the best way to stay in touch with friends and family, particularly in small groups.

What should everyone try at least once?

Something they never thought they would be capable of.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

When I am running - pretty much anywhere in the world. I really love not quite knowing how long I will be, where I am, how I will get back and how much help I might need in order to do that. My sense of direction is not spectacular.

My younger self wouldn't question my motivations or impact focus, but she would never have predicted the industry we are in. In fact, my current self sometimes finds this bizarre too. When we promised to rescue London's fire-hoses we did not know where this would lead us. We fell in love with the hose, all of its history, properties and potential and this is why we do what we do; it was extensive fire-hose R&D that led us to luxury.

Kerstin Neuber: Senior Head of Communications, PUMA

My NativeAdVert:

Kerstin Neuber is Senior Head of Communications at Sports brand PUMA and responsible for Corporate, HR and Brand Communications. Before she joined the German company in 2007, she worked as a stock market reporter and business journalist for news agency Reuters in Frankfurt and London. After she graduated in English and Portuguese linguistics and cultural sciences from University of Mainz, she kicked off her professional career as a stock trader with an international investment bank in Frankfurt.

My Goal of the Day: Make it happen. Shock everyone.

My Thought of the Day: If you can dream it, you can do it.

My Action of the Day: Making time to share my knowledge and experience with trainees and young co-workers.

My Deed of the Day: I am trying to make my lifestyle more and more sustainable by using renewable electricity, separating my garbage, avoiding plastic where possible and travelling rather by train than plane.

My Tip of the Day: Get on a Chi Machine for 10 minutes and you will feel an amazing energy flow.

My Pic of the Day:

What do you love most about Your City?

After having lived in London for some years, I love the peacefulness and convenience that Nuremberg offers. Hardly any traffic (at least nothing what Londoners would call traffic), a variety of ethnic restaurants and bars in walking distance and in a beautiful historic Old Town setting plus art exhibitions and a high-quality theatre. A nature reserve perfect for hiking, climbing and biking is just a 30-minute drive away and comes with a high density of traditional breweries. All I just need.

Favorite breakfast meal & restaurant?

I am fan of intermittent fasting, so I skip breakfast quite often. If I don’t, I will go for an avocado/ melon or apple/almond/cinnamon smoothie. Avocado toast with eggs and salmon is more than welcome at the weekends.

What are you doing at:

6:00 AM – Meditating. 20 minutes every day does the trick for my inner peace.

10:00 AM – I will be in meetings or media interviews or signing off media materials. If it’s none of these, it’s emails, for sure.

12:00 PM – Favorite Lunch spot/meal?

The roof terrace of the PUMA headquarters restaurant in Herzogenaurach. It offers a beautiful countryside view and it’s the perfect spot to chat with teammates over lunch.

7:00 PM – Either on my horse or in a yoga or TRX class in our office gym.

11:00 PM – In bed, asleep already or still listening to a podcast.

What drink do you need to get through the day and at the end (and how many)?

Right after I wake up, I have a large glass of warm lemon water. Then it’s black coffee while I get ready, before I move on to sparkling water and ginger tea in the office. For dinner, I don’t say “no” to a glass of Merlot.

Most used App/Favorite Instagram Account?

Most used app: It’s got to be Spotify.

Favourite Social Media account: Nutrition and interior design pins on Pinterest.

What should everyone try at least once?

I once crossed the Namib desert on horseback from Windhoek to Swakopmund. We rode 10 hours every day and slept on camp beds under the stars. It was the most amazing adventure being so close to nature and wild animals. But being deprived of all luxury and sanitary facilities for two weeks, you can bet that you will again appreciate the things in life we usually take for granted – such as running water and a warm shower. Highly recommended for the ultimate relaxation and to restore gratefulness.

Where do you enjoy getting lost?

In the woods, on my horse.
