Brandy Haberer: Award-winning Disability/Autism Activist, Podcaster, Singer & Author

Bio

Brandy Haberer is an award-winning disability and autism activist, podcast host, professional singer, author, graphic artist, educator, and full-time Community and Social Media Manager for the world's first autistic dating and friendship app, Hiki.

She was recognized by WEGO Health as one of the top patent advocates and won the Best in Show Instagram award for 2020. After she and her husband were both late-diagnosed as autistic with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder affecting many autistic people, it became her mission to bring more awareness to under-diagnosed, rare conditions and help change the stigma around autism and mental health.

Brandy just finished her first book as co-author of Chronically Empowered Book Series out now!  She also works as a graphic artist sharing her “Merch with a Message” on her Etsy Store titled, “The Chronic Couple” and enjoys creating portraits of people and animals in her spare time.

Most common activity:

Singing and drawing info-graphs for my Instagram and realism portraits of family, friends, and pets.

Favorite shows/movie:

I love Reality TV because I have a hard time watching anything too intense or violent. Anything on Bravo and I’m happy.

Fav IG accounts:

My husband @spectrumy_matt and our fur children @scarlett.and.moxie

Fav meal/drink:

Cesar salad and a baked potato from Ruth’s Chris and my fav drink is a Pina Colada.

The most questionable thing you’ve ever seen or heard recently:

The response in my community in response to Covid. People not wearing masks and not being vaccinated.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Helping people to make lifelong connections and friendships, and for some, for the first time in their lives.
