Dr. Alejandro Junger was born in Uruguay, where he completed Medical School in 1990. He then moved to NY for his postgraduate training. He completed 3 years of Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at NYU Downtown Hospital and 3 years of Cardiology Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital. His own health problems led him to seek different solutions to what modern medicine was offering him, and what he learned became the pillars of his own medical practice. He then became a Functional Medicine practitioner. His findings are the subject of his New York Times Bestsellers Clean, Clean Gut and Clean Eats. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and kids, where he also practices medicine and continues to write about his findings.
